om spring game thoughts?
I know its a scrimmage, still didnt look good on either side really. Yes they were missing some key guys. Oh, the QB spot is MGKs to lose.

Neither did their fans or quarterbacks.

I didn't realize it either until I saw the paper this morning. QBs had a rough day according to the Sun Herald. They combined to go 23-53, ouch...

Columbus Dispatch stated as a lead off sentence about a 43 yard tight spiral for a touchdown by Kelly. I figured that this would be something that you would see the Clarion Ledger. That was as far as I read, because I really don't care to read any OM hype stories.

Bucky .. he says Ryan 'has the lead.'
Ryan was 5 of 16 .. 31% .. with an int
I also agree with you. Bucky has gone 'all in' on Kelly. Knowing that Chad is a 'ticking time bomb' has to keep him awake at night.
Coach34 .. "We're not hiring the ****ing Pirate at Miss State. GTFO"

I spoke with a high school coach at the scrimmage yesterday... I'm not sure if he is pro OM or MSU... I have an idea tho.. We were talking about our QB situation , he said In his opinion Damian Williams would be the starter at OM if the season started this week.. No knock against Damian at all , shows how far we have come in QB recruiting past few years..

Doesn't matter. Anyone with the sense God gave a cornflower seed can clearly see Ole Miss is going to win the national championship this year (or enter any future season you wish)***

They are going to be in trouble at the QB position. All of those guys didn't look ready and their running game looked about the same if not worse because of their O-line depth. I'm starting to think Freeze's gimmick system just puts a lot of pressure on the QB to control tempo, make quick reads, and take care of the football. It probably limits each of their QB's strengths in the end. Freeze needs to adapt his system to his guys instead of the other way around, and it wouldn't hurt to learn how to run the football consistently to make it easier for them.

Funny you say that since in his press conference he said something along the lines of that he stays up at night worrying and praying that his players don't make a dumb decision.

This is Nathan Stanley all over again. The difference is it's Freeze trying to keep a prominent Ole Miss booster happy.
They have too much "invested" in Kelly to not make him the starter. Not to mention the fact that he will probably go off if he isn't named the starter.

No offense works when you don't have a QB, RB, or o-line.
That offense probably does put a lot of pressure on a QB that has trouble thinking quickly. I imagine that sometimes those offenses go so fast that they end up screwing something up because they aren't quite set.

If Kelly was on my team and I was the coach I would stay up at night too- the guy is just erratic from a behavior standpoint. The guy has been kicked off of at least two teams that I can think of going back to high school. And if a high school kicks off a D-I prospect QB who I'm guessing was their best player on the team- you know it had to be bad.

One of the biggest reasons I buy into Fitzgerald being our next starter after Dak. I think Staley is very talented but the fact he got kicked off his high school team threw up a huge red flag for me. Don't have all the info and Staley may turn out to be an all American but I'm glad we decided to sign 2 QBs that year just in case.

Staley was kicked for audibling to much. That is the reason in a nut shell. The coach thought Staley audibled to much, they got in a disagreement and he was kicked off the team.

Haha, it was definitely the 'disagreement' that got him kicked off the team.....not the audibles.

Kelly is going to be the starter there- period. That decision was made the second they took his commitment. He may not be the starter the very first game of the season(ala Nathan Stanley/Masoli), but MGK will be the starting QB when it's all said and done. Everyone knows it.
All this laughable Buchanan nonsense is nothing more than politicking.
