You would hope that your senior SS could make a routine hope 6-4-3 that would have killed the KY inning there.

You were taught a 4 seam grip as a catcher on stolen base attempts in spring training? No, no you weren't.

No doubt. Hell it was a 2 hop 6-3. Got to help, your pitcher out there who is battling his ass off and out of gas. Inexcusable.

Now bases loaded with nobody out.

Not at catcher. Agree with you there. Not enough time to adjust quickly. Some catchers can do it. Just throwing the ball on plays at other positions, if you have time. I was too athletic to play catcher.

I taught it to catchers in high school. Good catchers. State championship catchers. We worked on it in drills. Why wouldn't you? Simple transfer drills.

We worked on it at every position. During warm ups. All the time. Little things.

For the love of God, pull Tatum. He did a good job, but he's done

Bases juiced no one out and he gets out of it. Kudos to you Vance Tatum. Got to get better at focusing when leading the game but dammit son you pitched your ass off when under the gun. Great ****ing performance.

I was discussing a very specific circumstance -- which was very specifically discussed on the broadcast and you went seeking an argument where there wasn't one. You never "have time" to adjust grips at catcher on stolen base attempts. Not unless the dude literally falls down..

Oh I agree with you totally. We worked on it too. Just sometimes you have to throw however you catch it if you are rushed. I didn't play catcher and don't know the scientific specifics of the position.

I have the baseball game muted. I don't want to listen to Kentucky broadcasters talking baseball to me.

I've got a couple of rings myself...
There is not time to adjust grip from the catcher position on stolen base attempts. It's not a simple transfer drill. Bunt plays -- throw em out Ks -- sure. Not on stolen base attempts....

Of course not every throw but it can and should be worked on. It can be done and is done. We will just disagree which is ok.

THIS!!! he is a battler, a warrior.. and guys like that do what they have to do..
