You can only say "no" so many times before people start getting the picture. Mississippi State is HIS program. He built this. His practice fields, his football facility, his weight room, his offices, his film rooms, his stadium expansion, etc... Also, his in-laws have their own house in town. His kids are growing up in town. Megan is the queen of the golden triangle. They don't take crap from boosters and random people like they have and would at "name" programs like Florida and Michigan.
Also, he's already walked away from a shot at Michigan the year we stomped them in the Gator Bowl.
I've said it a million times and still think it's true, Mullen is a statue guy. He's the Frank Beamer of State. Unless he thinks he can get that somewhere else, he's not leaving... and those opportunities are going to be few and far between.

Someone posted on another board that they have heard from someone within the Michigan AD sphere that Mullen was contacted..I will summarized (with some** liberty):
Meechagin: "Mullenz, you interested?"
Mullenz: "Nope"

I wouldn't leave if I was Dan either. One 10-11 win season is great, but another one just increases your value that much more. If he left now, this is what he would be leaving:
1. A Heisman candidate at QB.
2. A Doak Walker candidate at RB, plus another All-SEC caliber RB in Shumpert.
3. A three year guy at WR that has a chance to be a first round pick.
4. A defense that will probably be better next year.
5. A hungry team that has a ton of experience.

It's a proven statistic that 90% of all statistics are made up at the spot.

I know. I was being cantankerous in a somewhat facetious manner.
Bear has to extend his hands to the ball before he goes anywhere early.

You are quite wrong there. Most State fans would be devastated. You are reading too much into the post Egg Bowl meltdown. He has taken us to places we have never been. Most sane REAL Dawgs know that.
