Buy/Sell: MSU will make a FG longer than 30 yards before the season is over?
Sell. Guess I've given up. Still can't believe Sobes wasn't given a shot from a mere 42 yards out.

Between the facts that we're obviously not comfortable at that range and that Dak on 4th and short in opponent's territory would be an attractive option no matter who our kicker was, sell.

big buy. Sobiesk is good from 42 in from this point fwd IMO

I will buy on the assumption that we will have 3 more attempts and make at least one of them. We really shouldn't be going for a lot of field goals over 30 yards. It's not a particularly high percentage play for us and even if it were, our offense is successful enough that we should be going for it on 4th down in those situations anyway.

It's going to depend on the game situations from here on out. I don't think we'll be going to be kicking it in that range with short yardage to go. We shouldn't. The odds are in our favor on conversion with the offense we have no matter who is kicking it.
Now, if we need the points late in the game or quarter, he'll get a shot.

Buy.
For the life of me, I don't understand why we let Logan Cooke attempt that FG. Sobiesk has been striking both his XP's and FG's very true the last couple of games (trust me - I watch every one closely).

Sort of amazing that possibly the best MSU football team in modern times has the worst FG kicking of any MSU team in modern times. I mean when you don't even feel like you have a good shot to hit a FG from 30 to 45 yards that is SAD!

That is sad, and it has been sad for two years now. I am concerned that the lack of any semblance of a place kicker is going to bite us in the arse in a crucial game.

last year was the worst. we're MUCH better this season when Sobiesk kicks. He just doesn't have a huge leg.

Buy! We'll have to kick at least one, and when we do it will be very important and out of desperation (4th and long). Otherwise we would not even attempt it.

We are definitely not much better. Last year while we were only 6-8 on FGs under 30 yards (where we are 4-4 this year), we did at least make 4 FGs beyond 30 yards while we are 0-3 on FGs beyond 30 this year.

I have to buy. It is unfathomable that we can't kick a 30+ yard FG. That means the line of scrimmage is THE 13 YARD LINE. That is just inexcusable and you cannot spin it in any form or fashion.
