Rest in peace Jack Cristil. I grew up listening to him. MSU sports and Jack Cristil are synonymous in my mind.

Suddenly, that game on Saturday doesn't seem nearly as important anymore. God Bless you Jack Cristil. May the pearly gates be wrapped in maroon and white forever.

There are truly no words to express this loss. My prayers to the Cristil family. I know Jack is now wrapped in the arms of Jesus.
Thank you, Jack. We are all better people and Bulldogs for having had you in our lives.

Mr. Cristil is a MSU legend and was a great ambassador for MSU. Nobody will ever have the unique method of broadcasting that he had. I also grew up listening to Mr. Cristil on the radio. Nobody could make you feel like you were at a MSU game, if you couldn't attend, than he could. I remember the "You can wrap this one up in Maroon and White" and how happy he was. when he could say that, as well as us hearing those words. Prayers go out to to his family during this sad time, and may the Lord be with them and comfort them in their time of need.

sad to hear. His voice was the one I'd listen for when searching my radio for games. Thanks for the memories Jack.

Amen. Get on it, Stricklin!

Great idea.
Wonder if the SEC or NCAA would deny the request?
Among many fond memories, the memory that makes me smile the most is the "Sonic Drive of the Game will be my drive home to Tupelo today."

Very cool seeing our former student athletes posting about Jack too. Already have seen Riley Benock and Ravern Johnson make posts.
-
Yeah. Wrap it in Maroon and White.
Not crazy about the patch idea because he predates our current players, but I have no doubt that the university will honor him well. I wouldn't be against a statue, but that's just me, the art lover.
I love Jack. What a treat his broadcasts were. That alone makes me thankful to be a Bulldog. I'd hate to have missed it.

There definitely needs to be a statue or something permanent. Jack never needs to be forgotten.

Making him our first statue at the stadium or junction would be very nice and appropriate. He has earned his place as one of the greatest Mississippians and bulldogs ever. Make it happen MSU.

For those of you in the Starkville area, or next time you come visit campus, his brick is located in Section I-2 of Mississippi Plaza. It is the most Northeastern brick in that section.

Couldn't agree more. Jack needs a statue. And something named after him. Make it so.

Screw them if they did. He deserves it.
-
He's left an untouchable legacy. He'll forever be the voice of MSU.

It has to be him sitting with a headset, cigarette in hand. Half full double old fashioned glass on the table. And the cigarette should be always smoking.

He probably hopes not. (Jack was not only a Jew, but a lay Rabbi)
-
Damn. I did not see this last night. This truly brings a tear to my eyes.
God bless you Jack.

I don't listen to games on radio as they are all on tv now, but during the Southern game when we got dumped, I turned the radio on to the game, and it came home to me, just how much I missed Jack. He was an artist with words, could paint a perfect picture of a game. God Bless you Mr Jack!

I say take the 15-yard penalty if we have to.
