    Hypothetical question

    If you could take the national championship in baseball, but in exchange we went 4-8 in football (egg bowl loss included). Would you do it?

    I love baseball, but no. In fact, I would trade a baseball NC for a football NC any day. I would probably trade it for a shot at the Sugar Bowl. Sorry, guys.

    I would trade a baseball NC to go 0-12 this season. Especially if all other things are equal aka we still have the same players going into the 2014 football season.

    In a heartbeat. Baseball is the only sport where we have a legitimate shot at a National Championship. NC > NYD Bowl. I'd HATE going 4-8, but it'd be damn well worth it for a NC. Not to mention the snowball effect winning a NC would have for our baseball program. I'm with Todd: If we ever win one, we're going to see the program go to heights we've never seen before.

    For MSU to get an NCAA national championship in ANY of the 3 main sports would be absolutely huge. I would be willing to go winless in the other 2 sports that particular school year to get a national championship in any of the 3. Obviously we are talking baseball right now but I would have said the same thing in 1996 when we were 2 wins away from a national title in basketball.

    Of course.

    We have been worse than 4-8 in football several times in our history. I would suffer through a 0-12 season including a 40-0 loss to the Bears to win a MFing National Championship.

    I'm pretty sure all or at least most would trade baseball national championship for football championship. Wasn't the question though...

    What I would trade in football this season for a NC in baseball.

    You guys know how Rafa Nadal bites his trophies?


    I would trade a 4-8 season AND have a large Hugh Freeze buck tooth balloon biting the top of our scoreboard all year.

    I would really like to believe our football team is capable of a bcs bowl or nc. I just don't see it. We were close in '98 and almost landing cam though
