Not shocking, in order to fit us into their nice little box, people tend to conveniently forget many things when it comes to MSU.

It's become very clear that the media is completely split on MSU this year.

The people who do research and break out team down think we will be pretty good with the chance to be very good, but they don't quite trust us. Most of our fans fall into this category.

The people who don't do research basically look at recruiting rankings, who your best win was last year, and your history, and rank you accordingly. These people are lazy.

No one expected Texas Tech to be successful last year with a walk on redshirt freshman qb and a 34 year old coach who had one year experience as a coordinator (he was a co-coordinator at Houston.... first solo job was at A&M).

The national media can only guess. The local media has more insight, but they typically show favoritism. You just gotta take everything for its worth. The only way they could research MSU is if they were at the spring and fall practices and taking notes on player developments. That's a lot of work for the national media to do.
