Holy hell. That just sucks. He was a rare talent. His stand up bit on inventing golf was hilarious.

Aww man. Sad news. One of the funniest ever.

Tragic, just goes to prove that depression can attack anyone......

Terrible. And apparently he suffocated himself... Good grief. RIP. He was as talented as they come... Both in comedy and acting.
EDIT: CNN reporting "suicide by asphyxiation"... So I assume that means he suffocated himself. I really don't know.

He is one of my all time favorites. Hell of an actor and comedian

This really sucks. Literally one of my all time favorite, not only actors or comedians, but people. He was such a rare talent. I had read a few months ago that he was struggling with his alcoholism again, but this just came out of now where.

I rarely get sad about celebrity deaths, but this one...
I need a drink.

He was the best. Great actor

Agreed. Williams was one of those rare talents that wasn't just good, but great, at all facets of his craft. He could be hilarious in a comedy, brilliant in a drama, or outright creepy as a villain. Death by asphyxiation. I'm guessing he cut on a car inside his garage and just drifted off. Now I need to go watch Good Will Hunting or Mrs. Doubtfire or Hook.

It's the roller coaster of hope that this program keeps us on that makes it hell being a State fan. - CadaverDawg, 10/15/22

In my experience, a police report containing "asphyxiation" usually denotes death by hanging.
I agree about getting caught up in celebrity lives/deaths, but I grew up watching this dude. Some of my favorite movies as a kid and an adult were made awesome by Robin Williams. His role in Good Will Hunting was amazing.
I was sad when Marlon Brando died, but he was pretty old. Suicide is always tougher to swallow.

I feel for his family. My brother in law committed suicide five years ago. There's still an empty spot that will never be filled and a lingering question of why that will never be truly answered. I hope and pray that, like my brother in law, Robin Williams has found peace.

Such a tragic loss. Great actor and comedian. Will definitely go down as one of my favorite actors of all time.

Much younger than I would have guessed. He's only Nick Saban's age.

The light that is humanity just got dimmer. He will be missed. Ionic that he played so many characters that hope was a central theme but he couldn't save himself.

True. I wonder if he fought depression most of his life? Or if it was an aging problem or something.....

He's been fighting it and alcoholism for a while. He was recovering well from alcoholism earlier but relapsed recently.

I met Robin Williams at an airport in Dallas. He was not your typical celebrity. He cared about others and was a great soul. Comedy will not be the same.
?The nose of the Bulldog has been slanted backwards so that he can breathe without letting go?
