I don't know if we will ever get players like Ronaldo or messi in their prime, but I do think you will see second tier players making the move here in their prime sooner than ten years. A lot of guys fell out of favor at large clubs and moved to turkey, Portugal, and other comparable leagues. The MLS is fast approaching the level of those leagues, and combined with the fact that it is in American (safe, players will get paid their money, good place to raise kids) and I think we will start to see a lot more mid level European talent in the near future
Oh I never thought that Ronaldo or Messi types would come to the MLS in their prime. The EPL, La Liga, and Bundalista are the top talent leagues. MLS is definitely a fairly good haven for second-tier players during their prime if the MLS can become a more comparable situation to international play.
