I'm sure you know more, you're right

Here's just a littler reference of the EPL players in the game today.
Belgium: Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea, played for Everton this past year), Jan Vertoengen (Tottenham), Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal), Marouane Fellaini (Manchester United), Vincent Kompany (Manchester City) Kevin Mirallas (Everton), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Nacer Chadli (Tottenham), Kevin De Bruyne (plays in Germany now, but started this past year at Chelsea), Adnan Januzaj (Manchester United), Simon Mignolet (Liverpool), Christian Benteke who has a torn Achilles plays for Aston Villa. I believe 12 of their 23 players play in the EPL.
USA: Tim Howard (Everton), Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Brad Guzan (Aston Villa). We have 4 players in the EPL.
Other notable players: Luis Suarez (Uruguay-Liverpool), Wayne Rooney (England-Manchester United) Robin Van Persie (Netherlandsj-Manchester United), Mesuit Ozil (Germany-Arsenal), Lucas Podolski (Germany-Arsenal), Per Mertesacker (Germany-Arsenal)

You could even argue that La Liga has been a better league over the past few seasons, so that list is missing huge names in other leagues across Europe
-
Yeah I'm about to get into it myself this season. I've resisted long enough

If anyone wants, I can give a slight little rundown of the bigger teams so y'all can know a little about them. Consensus seems that a lot y'all don't know much but wanna get into it, so if you think it'll help I can do that. If not I won't bother

I know a little bit but never cared to get into it for whatever reason. One of my best friends is a huge Liverpool fan so I'll probably just watch with him. Dunno if I'll wind up going for LP or not but it's a good starting point.

Everton fan here
After the last World Cup, it was the only team I knew to follow because of Tim Howard. I've sort of developed a bond with them now over the last 4 years. Donavon was on loan with them for a while and those were fun games to watch with him and Howard both playing.

Games btwn the bottom teams at the end of the season are almost more intense than the battle for the title. The playoff game in the second division of England that decides who gets called up is called the richest game on the planet bc of the money difference
SB Nation or one of those online magazines did a "what if college football had European-style relegation?" series. It was pretty interesting.

The CONCACAF champions league sucks because the Mexico doesn't have the money or resources to ever attract top talent. The United States has that capability. It's a win win for soccer if this happens. Soccer will continue to grow between the World Cup years because America will have a unified rooting interest, and the EPL or Champions League will make money.
There is tons of money to be made off the United States for soccer. In the last two World Cups, US soccer fans have bought more tickets than any other country with the exceptions of the hosts.
The EPL and Champions Leagues would be stupid not to add us.
But is there any precedent of a domestic league adding a team from another country? EPL is all England (or UK, maybe?), La Liga is all Spain, Serie A is all Italy, Bundesliga is all Germany. AFAIK, anyway.

Nope...No precendent of an outside country's team being added to a top-tier league.

The FA Cup is a British tournament involving all of the leagues. Basically it's a big free-for-all to give some of the smaller teams some exposure against the EPL teams. It's actually pretty cool

All of the different leagues and tournaments are confusing as shit. So technically a team can be playing EPL, Champions, and FA Cup at the same time? Just alternating games accordingly?

It's pretty confusing, but I like it. I wish there was more interleague play in our sports.

So who won the Champions League last year?
