Signee Dale Burdick to sign w Mets

Drafted in last round of MLB. Which means he don't need any money he just wants to play pro ball. He would have been a great player at msu.

Not bright. When he eases out like most do then he has no education to fall back on. Oh well let's recruit some more that want to be here.

Well that stings. Man, talk about a guy that didn't want any part of going to college. Pro ball will be there in 3 years, you only get one chance to be a kid getting the college experience.

Agree, this one is really more on our coaching staff unless the kid was just untruthful. Absolutely NO use in wasting a signing spot on a kid willing to go pro out of the 40th round. We've got to do better evaluating a kid's college interest than that. Losing Vallot is one thing, but losing a kid this way shouldn't happen.

Worse thing is he had been committed a while but best thing is there are plenty of good baseball players, problem is you have to really work to find the right one.

Pro team will pay for his college education. Just like Dixon.

40th round? I wouldn't agree to that if I'm NY

If he actually got that deal it would make more sense, however, I'm VERY skeptical that he got that guarantee out of the 40th round.

Big mistake. He will be riding on the back of a waste management truck in two years.
