Boise State allowed by NCAA to help homeless recruit from New Orleans
Glad they are doing the right thing here, but the kid shouldn't have to be living on the street in order to receive assistance. Come on!

What's wrong with this picture is that this homeless kid is only getting assistance because he's good at sports. What about the homeless kid two towns over who doesn't happen to be athletic?

Yep.
This shit is absolutely ridiculous. Nothing but selfish motives behind feel-good public antics. Complete bullshit.

When they are on campus, the NCAA "allows" the assistance you mentioned. Bottom line is, the college should be able to pay whatever they want, whenever they want to the kids who have signed with them.
The homeless kid two towns over who doesn't happen to be athletic? He's a straw man.

NCAA should have ruled that they could help the kid, but he shouldn't be allowed to play for them. Lets see how deep they feel about helping this guy then.

Yep. There are no unathletic homeless kids in America. Complete straw man. The minute you get what you think you want is the moment college football dies. And from an MSU fan. LOL. pay for play kills us forever.

It's a straw man because a homeless person who doesn't play football has nothing to do with the argument of paying college football players.
Anyway, I disagree. We have enough money to pay players. The big boys are already paying all of their players. If this was out in the open, maybe we could compete a little more. Besides, they only have a certain number of players they can play.
The NCAA is the most un-American institution ever.

We don't have the money for that. Once you pay football players then you are going to have to pay every athlete on your campus. You damn sure will have to pay the women and just how many women sports makes money for the Athletic department? This would instantly end college athletics at a lot of schools. Also there is no way we could ever keep up with Alabama if it was all out in the open. If they let school pay what ever they want to who they want no way we keep up with the big boys and if they set a limit on what they could spend the big boys would find another way to cheat.
It's foolish to pay college atheletes. If they are not happy with what they get, then they should find something else to do.
