I see roles for C Smallwood and M Phifer but I?m pretty high on R Beaty pushing for a pretty significant role. She played on a very talented Iowa State team but was still able to work her way into a backup role playing over twenty minutes. She had nearly a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio and was second on the team in steals behind Jada Williams. I do agree we still need a combo guard capable of pushing for all conference honors and serviceable size in the post. However, again, I really like this addition.

She's appears capable of coming in helping get the ball inside to Nwaedozi similar to the way she helped off the bench this past season while backing up Jada Williams.... to Audi Crooks, ect but she's not a scorer, not a shooter. Doesn't appear a double figures type scorer at this point but can help make plays for others. Gonna look into her defense. Reminds me of a Trayanna Crisp type guard but without the 3 point shooting. Appears solid but Im with NCMSTFAN...not enough to compete in the SEC. This transfer, tranfer portal recruiting has been a good bit suspect over the past 2 offseasons. Coach Purcell has to know this.

Miss. State has been in contact. Don't have the info on the level of involvement at this point. Some players already have deals setup or ideas where headed before announcing entering the portal. Miss. State definitely needs to hit (homerun) on one of these top scorers.

Her assist to turnover ratio was really good, I do like that. But she shot 37% from the field and 27% from three. Also from looking at film she doesn't appear very athletic or a great defender which is needed in the SEC. I dont hate the pick up, I'm just not as excited as others. We gotta go out and get some size and athleticism now... go look at LSU, South Carolina, Kentucky heck even Ole Miss now, they have size and athleticism... Favour Nwaedozi and Madison Francis give us some of that but we need depth in those areas, especially size.

Transfer portal recruiting not all that good but still bringing in-state talent shows local basketball support. As for my view of Coach Purcell's off-season portal recruiting over the past 2 years up unto this point...that's a whole nother story.

NCMSTFAN...Zam Jones to Louisville. Mostly all of the really good guards, high scoring guards being picked up by other teams. Gotta grab one these remaining. Mostly every SEC game except for a few this past season the other teams had the better guards, the more explosive guards, ect. Need atleast 1 explosive (not just so-called good) guard in the backcourt to compete in the SEC. Also, gotta be able to defend, beat presses. Need a guard capable of taking over the games when needed. Investing in a really good guard, guard that's explosive offensively as well is one of the most important investments when building team's out of the transfer portal. See the guard Jeff Waltz just picked.


Not just the SEC but in general the team's with the best guards are basically the team's winning. Add that with inside presence and it's usually even more better of a team.

Sam Purcell and Fred Castro only bringing in white and hispanic players for the class of 2026 and the transfer portal as well...thus far. Do you anticipate any blacks being brought in this offseason? Maybe Robbie Faulk, Bain or someone over at Genespage, Miss. State Women's Basketball site . Miss. St Fanpage, SDN Sports, Clarion Ledger, ect. can give us a breakdown of this recruiting strategy?

I never mentioned the name Phifer on this board ever, not even once. Basically something that you dreamed up and got me in it. Just because I'm asking about and pushing for blacks to be brought on to the team doesn't mean that I don't wont this player or any player on the team. Just that I feel that some black players should be being brought in for this next season as well. They can help this team. Check my old posts and you'll see where I recently indicated that Coach Purcell needs to go out to California and take a look at a guard named Ebony Taylor Smith. She's white. I kept posting for it on this board because I knew that she could potentially help this team if picked up I always pushed for Chloe Bibby in the starting lineup when she was at Miss. State. Also, when she was rehabbing knee..I was the main.person pushing for her to get back healthy...she's white. Also, for her to get back into the lineup. Always pulled for and spoke well of Blair Schaefer..she's white. Continue to take up for Coach Purcell even when the haters were coming on here speaking negative about him and the team...and he's white. I went onto Genes Page a few years back and suggested that the Miss. State men's team take a look at juco player named Johnny Zuppardo..and they did. I pushed hard for this player over on Genes Page...and they signed him. Zuppardo is White. And he was a local Mississippi basketball player..white. I push for these local players to play for Miss. State. I pushed for the local Indian basketball players...for Miss. State to take a look. Coach Schaefer went and checked them and their coach out. I pushed on this board last year for Miss. State to pickup a hispanic player that I'm high still on...Emily Rodriguez. Also. I'm high on 2 hispanic juco women's basketball players right now. Both made it to the juco national championship game. Both juco all american guards.

Still though. Im not going to back off what I've been saying just to satisfy posters on this board. If Im speaking up for right..not backing down..ever.
