Did the same things towards players at Louisville. Coach Schaefer dealt way more on the level with his players and their families. He wasn't the type of coach that would lie to these young athletes and their families about his plans for them at Mss. State..he appeared to.mostly stick by what he told them. Also, he has the women's basketball program headed downward towards the bottom of the league with teams like Arkansas. Thus far in his recruiting not looking overly good though Cali Smallwood is a good player that appears to be immediate help for this team in a key area of need...good player. Non of the other new recruits are SEC ready.
Lot of times people get a pass on this type of stuff if they bring into a job, team situation. ect.... atleast 1 token.black but they're not trying to hide it at this point. Similar to old saying from Trump ..."Make Mississippi State Basketball Great Again." Babe McCarthy Adolph Rupp eras?
Don't smear Babe.....it was just the way it was then. Not his fault.

Brother J, you just burned up all respect I had for you and your posting to keep us informed on MSU women?s basketball. Everything you just wrote is absolutely hogwash! Nobody in State?s Athletics department or Women?s basketball program is being racist. But you sure the hell are! Take your RAcISt attitude and shove it! Bringing that stuff out when damn near every girls basketball player at State under Purcell has been a Black Player! I hope he does find us 2 Caitlyn Clarks and 2 Sofie Cunninghams to play basketball at State!

Being discriminated against is real. Take women's basketball coaching for instance. Lots of really good black women's basketball coaches but few get the bigger coaching jobs. Most get passed over for way less qualified white coaches. The black lady coaching at Arkansas State right now is really good and way more qualified for recently filled jobs at the major universities. She's a better coach than Sam Purcell or Fred Castro. But a lot of these AD's aren't quick to hire these black women...rarely get the big jobs. Not to mention.others. Coach Yo at Ole Miss got a break and ran with it. If Coach Yo was the coach at Miss.State right now they'd be really good. Blair Schaefer could build a better team and out coach Sam as well. Also, take Kara Lawson at Duke,..she was a Tennesse all time great and an excellent coaching candidate for the Tennessee women's coaching job but they continuously went with the less qualified white former players...who have struggled. These people aren't /haven't been good coaches but but that's how it is out here. Lawson has been outstanding at Duke but would be really hard (not impossible) for her to get the job. If she was white she would have been gotten the head coaching job there.

Race aside..these are not overly good players that Coach Purcell is bringing in on visits. Not SEC starter level. Cali Smallwood appears the most potential to help the team.

Again, you?re apparently not understanding my point. Fire Sam?..if the boosters/donors/alumni don?t want to give their money based off of previous results from current coach?..well they can do whatever they want to do with their money. Again, who gives 2 ****s about players that don?t care about MSU athletics much less will never contribute to MSU athletics bc they are looking for a pay day. Your argument is horseshit bc of the portal/entitlement that players have due to a terrible set up for college athletics. At some point, you need to understand that big money wants a ROI, and race has nothing to do with it, but please don?t act like that these mfers (players) are ever going to contribute to MSU athletics! It?s called being smart investors! Zac Selmon or any other AD can?t control the ANIMAL that has been created by NCAA and the ?legal system?!

Agree that the system is messed up but still no way to spin this misleading of players and blatant racist recruiting by Coach Purcell. No argument (horseshit?) here..just stating facts, speaking up against wrong.
