I don?t think Woodson is going to hold SS. He is a liability there and I hope we bring in a stud and move him to 3rd. Chone at 2nd. Get a stud 1b, dh and a few OF. I hope Nunnalee figures it out but he has just not been good to this point. And we need to sub Bevis for Reed for a few games. Reed is slumping bad.

We will have Raymond back, but hopefully we bring in a catcher that can do it all. I miss Logan Tanner.

I'd be good moving Ryder to third next year honestly. Not sure they make that move for his draft year though. Rocco is definitely capable of playing SS if he comes to school. I agree about Bevis and Reed.

That's what the roster is made of today, portals.
C- 2 Portals
1B- 3
2B- 2
SS- 1 + JUCO
2B- 1
LF- Homeboy
CF- 1
RF - 1+ HS
Only 2 High School recruits play the field. Parker and Chance.
The 2027 portal class probably won't have any Cavaliers, so it will be interesting to see. The tell seems to be the dudes that Kirby and McMullin follow on twitter. Kirby needs to lurk on Will Coggins twitter, start recruiting the Angola State Prison kids. Wonder if Elander players start leaving in big numbers. The kids came for Vitello, not him.

I could see us getting a player or two from Tennessee. Trent Grindlinger is a catcher for Tennessee who was a long time commit who decommitted after Lemonis was fired. He wanted to play for Vitello. His brother is also committed to Tennessee but is a draft risk.
Noah Franco at TCU has had some injuries this year at TCU but is another former commit that had a solid freshman season. I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him as a dual position player. May be expensive though. But he could fill a need at 1B/DH/OF and pitch in relief.

And this is a bit revisionist history but as far as all of the Virginia players I have to wonder if guys like Eric Becker and Henry Ford would be on our team if we had BOC as our coach two years ago. Who knows?
But BOC has said before that the plan is once things are settled into place to rely on the portal less and depend on players that we have developed more. I actually think that is a good way to go because we know we can recruit at an elite level. And doing that would in theory potentially save NIL over the long run to put all of our eggs into the basket of a Paul Skenes type portal talent which I think we would be interested in regardless.
