Y?all probably talked about this - OM pitching
Neil and Jay were going on about the Sunday OM starting pitcher (Townsend) with his surprise curve ball. They weren?t gloom and doom but it got scary thinking we may not be able score any more runs. Lo and behold, the long ball saved us. Who do we credit for the adjustments? Has to be the players talking to each other. Just some amazing offensive play this weekend.

It wasn't a surprise. His numbers w that pitch spin wise are off the charts. He's a top the pitcher draft wise in the sec. Commands 4 pitches. We made him pay w his mistakes. And looked stupid in the middle.

As Homedawg said- this guy is considered one of the SEC's top pitchers. We took advantage of his mistakes. Ace has had trouble with the change low and away- he left a change inside to him. Ace is working on making adjustments as well- stayed back- and hit it for a HR instead of pulling it foul.

OM has pitching??!!?? *****

Their fan base is lower than whale shit on the bottom of the ocean but they have a good team. They just ran into a really good team this weekend. Their frontline pitchers are good and they're going to beat some good teams. They'll win their share of games and will be dangerous come post season time. Nobody is gonna wanna see them in their bracket as a 2 or 3 seed. They do struggle to manufacture runs though. They're just too reliant on the long ball.

Well Jay said Townsend was coming off an injury and the curve wasn?t something that was in his repertoire. It struck out several lefties before they starting catching his mistakes.

He was coming off an Injury but the statement about his curve is incorrect. He's used it all year just doesn't throw it a ton. But the numbers are elite on it.

Just thought of something. Wouldn't it have been something if our fans at the OM ball park would thrown up beer showers after our home runs? That would have been the coolest thing ever. LOL.

I?m glad he began to tier some and started to get behind in counts it opened the door for us.

As Wes Rea once said allegedly- we don't throw beer.

If I could poach any player off of Ole Miss's team it would be Townsend.

The credit goes to O’Conner and McMullan. They emphasize line drive hitting. We are not up there trying to be Dakota Jordan or Hunter Hines every AB. We just happen to have really talented players that hit 400 ft line drives.

townsend has the stuff...just made a few mistakes and we did what good teams do to mistakes.
best part of the weekend was after he gave up the homeruns to parker and raymond and was taken out, richard cross says..."removed due to pitch count". naw...he was removed cuz we started punishing his pitches. and for the record, cross is good at his job but he cannot help himself if he is doing an ole miss game.
