Nunnalee will wake up. It?s early, right now can we absorb his slump, bc we have talented depth. He needs to go slump busting in Starkville?..plenty of fat uglies out there!

They did the job tonight. Can't complain for waking up in the 6th. Won't be so easy next weekend though boys

Yep, can't lay an egg for 5 innings come SEC play.
Chance is just a baller. I have full confidence in him.

Pretty sure we will be a little more focused, a little more adrenaline, and excited to play SEC ball. C’mon fellows….a little common sense.

Seems like we should play a DH tomorrow.

I dont think we lacked any juice- DL's SP pitched well. He was throwing some good shit until we got on him. These games happen in baseball. The fact we are up 8-3 shows how talented we are and how it makes it hard for us to be beat

We made adjustments. That's what makes this team and offense good. Sure, we might go 0-9 the first three innings. But by the end of the game we've got 6-8 runs on the board. And if a pitcher is off to start with we're probably going to run rule the other team. We had a guy that is essentially a bench guy hitting over .400 launch two bombs tonight. Then Ryder cranked one out.
But to me the play that turned the game around was the bunt from Chone James that they air mailed into RF and then we got two runs off of it with our aggressive baserunning that none of our fans are going to point out because it worked. And really three because James came around to score later.

And as far as pitching- McPherson was legit as usual. And kind of sort of on short rest. But now he'll get an extra day off before Arkansas as will Tico and Stone. My boy Maddux was leaving pitches up in the zone tonight and he got hit some. James really stepped up with the pick off play there after Maddux struck their hitter out. And then they used Ben Davis for an 1 2/3 innings and lo and behold it worked! That's what we need to do if he is going to close. Bring him in no sooner than the 8th inning. We still have Pitzer, Gleason, and Burns available for tomorrow. Probably could bring back Davis on Saturday if we need to. I would not Sweeney use until Saturday and even then it would just be for an inning if that. Maddux probably needs to rest as well. I would probably use Foster out of the bullpen tomorrow if needed as well.

I'm assuming he was their ace too. If not, he pitched like it but we wore him down.

All I'm saying is the only night I was in starkville - we won. And we didn't start scoring until I started drinking a beer

Mac defiantly didn't have his best stuff last night. He did what a tough guy will do he stayed in it and found a way to get outs, Web was also not sharp and it showed. Davis was not using #1 much last night either, he was working the slider and the change up a lot.

Mac's breaking ball was outstanding but his FB was in the Happy Zone (middle of the plate) way too much. I was taught early on to divide home plate into 1/3's. Right down the middle that middle third is the Happy Zone. As a pitcher- stay out of the Happy Zone or you wont be on the hill very long

Then that begs the question, why'd you wait so long to start drinking beer?

FB was way to much white part and it was a little flat according to the people with a better view.

I was driving from Laurel after work and got settled about the 5th inning and cracked that cold one. I am better prepared tonight

Honestly, head scratcher since the first 3 games.

man, if we have a guy on third with less than 1 out, there is no one on the team I would rather see up at the plate than Bryce Chance. Dude just keeps bringing his lunch box, every single day.
