Also one other thought on the pitching staff in general- now that our starters are getting extended we'll have to use the bullpen less hopefully. McPherson and Valinicus are hopefully going to give us 6-7 every time out Stone can hopefully go 5 every time. So, if that plays out it will help too.

We have got some things to figure out but we have went down 3-0 against 2 top 10 teams in the first inning (5-0) today after 3 and have managed to take the lead in both games. That speaks to both our offense and our bullpen doing their jobs. We fix some mistakes and we are 13-0. But, we ain't.

UCLA and Southern both have teams that have been together for a long time. They have veteran players everywhere. We are gonna gel and I wouldn't be surprised if we are a National Seed by years end. Although as a State fan, I don't know why I do this to myself. I haven't learned yet so I must be insane.

Bottom line, we aren’t doing the little things that it takes in baseball; if this were football, we would have 3 lost fumbles per game. We have to stop giving away outs and putting runners on base via walk and hbp.

Yep. Because Stallman wanted to admire his homerun (that actually was not a homerun). If Stallman runs out of the box he makes second easily. The only way to fix that is to bench him, but you would complain about that as well.

Edited to add: it pisses me off that USM has a guy score from first on an infield pop up because he ran hard on contact (hustle and effort). Yet we can’t get to second base on an easy double because we want to stand and watch then jog to first to watch our homerun that didn’t clear the fence (lack of hustle and effort).

I?m not sure this team will be there in the end. Leadership lacking again like it did under Lem! State has played only 2 top 10 teams. Guess what? State is 0-2 against 2 Top 10 teams. Beating Hofstra, Delaware, And Alcorn. So what. Struggled to put away Troy, ASU and Va. Tech late in games.

I?ll stick with my 39-17 (17-13) for now but I certainly could see revising that down when we get to SEC play. If we get to that, probably a 12 seed on the road for Regional and possible Super Regional. Cannot keep leaving Dudy Noble empty in late May and early June. That sucks!

We did not struggle to put away ASU or VT. Neither of those teams had the tying run up in the last 3+ innings at the plate.

Was kinda mid. Did get the whole little right field mad at us when Ace's bloop happened. They really didn't like getting the "your, fault" chant going back at them.

It doesn?t matter what you write or even think. State can spend $30 million on football and $15 million on basketball and still be bottom 6 SEC. State ?Fans? can spend $10 million on baseball and still have to play in the SEC too. So, probably a program like State should be in a lower conference. Winning at that level in football and still going to bowl games. Winning a little better at Basketball and maybe slipping in as a mid-major. Winning at baseball still because several Mid-majors win at baseball.

When Alabama, Texas, A&M, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Florida, Missouri, Auburn and Ole Miss can spend double than State can on Football, State has no chance!

I seriously doubt our fans would even fill the Dude if we fell to a mid-conference instead of being in the SEC. I want to win in every sport, but we have to fix football and now MBB ASAP. We cannot continue to be a circled win on everyone's schedules in these two major sports. Where would we be playing mid-majors for all sports and not getting the annual SEC check?
