Well, say what you want about the catching, But Maddox is straight nasty… if we can figure out how to catch and block instead of trying to backhand, would have been a different story….. two passballs for scores and a dropped can o corn at short which scored a run. That is 3 off the top right there. Just not sharp

Why is the catcher on 1 knee? If he was on his feet he could easily have trapped both balls. When you've got a leg extended you can't contort your body over the ball and keep it in front. Terrible coaching
I’ve asked the same question before. You see that crap everywhere now. You lose your ability to slide over easier. Don’t know why coaches allow it

That is a product of the way kids are taught how to receive and frame pitches. They know longer catch but snap at the pitch to help pitchers with frames

And it's good strategy for the most part. Of course you get more passed balls, but stealing strikes is more beneficial imo.
