UCLA has started a RHP the first 2 weekends on Sunday that hasnt made it out of the 4th inning yet. Our line-up vs RHP's is ridiculous. Wondering if they go with the same guy 3 weeks in a row

Curious about that too. Guess we'll find out.

We shall see. Stone has thrown pretty well for us let’s hope he continues this. UCLA is solid, a lineup a lot like ours, but one that has played together for a while. If we can jump on them early it will help us and get in their pen, in that hasn’t been used much this weekend. I like where we sit, we have a lot of bullpen left and this will be a great test.

Honestly this is about as good of an early season barometer as you can ask for. Both teams barely used their main pens. It's not ace vs. ace - it's pitching depth vs. pitching depth. I'm excited. If we can keep the bats hot then we leave here #1 and I'm getting arrested in Hattiesburg Tuesday night

I’ve just got a gut feeling that the team that scores 6 or 7 runs will lose.

Duke has earned the right to start on Sunday. I wouldn't be surprised if we play well today..

I think we play lights out and win today. UCLA will be playing their stiffest competition that has depth in the batting order and the bullpen. Should be a fun one to watch!

It appears they will start Stump. He is a righthander with tons of experience and a lot of innings in his career. But he has control issues and his ERA has always been high.

Gotta be patient and lay off of spin.

    Stump:

2024 he was 0-5 with 6.80 ERA. He threw 49 innings. Struck out 38 and walked 27. 16 appearances (11 starts)

2025 he was 6-2 with 5.02 ERA. He threw 75.1 innings. Struck out 62 and walked 39. 18 appearances (all starts)

2026 he has made 2 starts and is 0-0 with a 6.35 ERA.

So he's a veteran. But he hasn't been highly successful. We hit righthanders well.

I would move ace to 3rd or 5th. Need someone who can advance the runner even if you have to bunt. Need Ace to bat with men in scoring. Dam don't run him again.
