One of them weeks at work where I had one too many jackasses in meetings saying fluff to make themselves seen when they have nothing to contribute to the conversation.

They need to justify their attendance in a meeting. Never heard "better to be thought a fool than speak and remove all doubt."
I've made it clear to my boss I don't subscribe to this philosophy. Take it as a sign of respect if I'm not talking - means I'm listening and feel others are providing value if I'm in the room not talking. I'd speak if the topic was valuable and people weren't driving it to a valuable place. I'd leave if it wasn't valuable.
