Head scratching games like this are the games that good teams that are well coached win. They take advantage of opportunities and find ways to win.

Agreed. Ultimately getting outhit doesn’t matter. Not having your best stuff doesn’t matter. Having your DH suspended doesn’t matter. Bad luck doesn’t matter. You have to put all of the adversity aside and simply find a way to win. We did that.

Just thankful to escape a really bad loss right out of the gate. The odds of winning any game where you get outhit 10 to 3 are slim. And their starter from yesterday was no junk baller. He had a 94 mph fastball with a nasty slider. So not buying the excuse we didnt hit because he was so different than what we see in practice. Truth is we didnt really hit any of their pitchers yesterday. Hopefully we break out the sticks today. Having Sullivan back should help as well.

The first guy they threw was legit, and that was coming off TJ surgery. Dude was low heart rate the first time through the lineup, changed speed really really well. Didn’t use the fast ball much and hit his spot dead on until we sped him up in the fourth. That guy was player of the year in the CAA then missed last year. He could start on Friday for anyone in our league. After him it was pure garbage, 8 walks 4 WP and a HBP. There wasn’t much to hit after the first guy. We smoked some balls right at people all night, only saw a few non competitive at bats for us. That’s baseball and we did the little things pretty well and got a W.

Not worried about the offense. We came out jacked on opening day and pressed a good bit.

Plus, Martinez was really good for 3 innings. I think we'll see a run rule or two today.

Yeah, that guy can fill it up and he hit his spots until lost a little. Better be happy he’s coming of TJ and isn’t quite there yet.
