And student athletes have always had the same right to transfer at any time as any regular student and could even immediately be put on athletic scholarship, just had to sit out a year in terms of sports eligibility. And it was a good rule, to have some drawback to the out of control transfers we have today. And regular academic students do not transfer 3 and 4 times as undergrads while trying to earn a degree. If they did, it would take them 6 years to get a degree they could have gotten in 4 at the same place. Too many issues on what classes are required and what classes transfer from one institution to another for any particular degree. But that's a huge part of the problem, the student athletes of today, make that athletes of today, have little to no interest about earning their degree and apparently a big percentage of them don't even attend the classes they are enrolled in. Its all about what money I can make today while getting to the draft. Heck, its been years since ANY athlete I'm aware of was ruled academically ineligible anywhere. Just enroll them, put em on the team and play them, and roll them on through until they leave or enter the draft. Its a farce.
