So we can grab a bunch of mids and grown ass men to win 7-8 games and not be shitty

Miss State has not and will ever get the pretty shiny toy in football. We never have and never will

Missouri is good, but they haven’t made a playoff. Not saying I wouldn’t take their situation vs. ours. Vanderbilt is an outlier. Think of how fun Miami must be making millions at 18….Vanderbilt is in Nashville which is also a fun city

Which is why I've been melting. This screams that our admin is allowing 1-15 to fester.

Hiring Hutzler as a totally green SEC DC didnt make any sense either but Lebby did it. So Im not counting on his actions to be all that logical.

It didn't "make sense" for Lebby to keep snapping the ball with 20 seconds left on the play clock against Texas, but he still did it. He may just not be the sharpest knife in the drawer.

    Not totally true.

Chris Jones was #2 player in nation. Dontea Walker was #3 and #1 RB by some out of HS. Many other 5 star guys but all these were Miss kids that wanted to come here.

I don't want the shiny toy; I want some hungry dudes with the right attitude that want to prove something. No prima donnas or cancers need to enter MSU campus.

I haven?t charted it out but my guess is if you look at our W/L from 2010 to 2025 vs MS recruiting ups and downs there is a direct correlation. Our model needs to be keep 6 out of the top 10 in state players each year and then spend the rest of your money on transfers. You are going to lose a few to Alabama and LSU and Ole Miss prioritizes national more. You can be successful with MS kids as your recruiting base.

I agree but that's his philosophy and what helped get us the big lead in the first place. Many of us also remember the "Stands Stall" at the ends of games with leads he had that slipped away. I think he should have milked the clock also but had our idiot DL guy not hit the QB late we beat Texas. It's more than one variable in games

Agreed. He went high upside, no production on p4 level. He thinks he can retain these players if they pop, and he thinks he is getting 2027 regardless of how this season goes - and moving to a 9 game schedule, it could easily go bad.

People seem to conveniently forget that. If Anderson just doesn't act like it's 1997 again, we have the ball up 38-21 at the Texas 38 with about 9 minutes to go. The game was over.

I hear football was more fun in ‘97. I wasn’t born so I can’t contribute to that line of thought.

Jackie's teams would have set a NCAA record for targeting. Josh Morgan would probably hold it by himself individually.
