Came here to ask the same. Looks like this might be a heavy-duty glaze event.

It seems to be shifting northward for now so that is good for some. My folks south of Nashville are bracing for 12-20" of fluffy snow.

Dallas is going to get hit, just a matter of how much ice. I think everyone is in agreement that we will get somewhere between 2-4 inches of snow. The ice is all over the place though. I have seen as low as .25 inch an as high as 3 inches.

The issue for us, and Mississippi as well, is the temperature. We will not get above freezing until Tuesday. I know most of North Mississippi will not be above freezing until next weekend.

Lows in the 20's and teens Saturday and Sunday with 70-99% rain/snow/sleet. It's gonna be nasty. That's Hindsight/Madison/Yazoo county areas.

I know the models keep changing, but what are your thoughts on central MS?

Hah, that happens in the rain, sleet, snow, or sun. Jackson and wrecks are pretty much synonymous

Yeah, 7 needs to check his weather app. It might be set for Mobile.

Models still not in good agreement as everything depends on the exact track of the low which is impossible to predict tho far out. A change in track of 5 miles can make a huge difference on who sees what. Right now, the best guess is most of the snow stays more in TN and extreme north MS. The bulk of the state will see mainly freezing rain and sleet. And while some models are kicking out catastrophic amounts, I'm thinking north of 82 will probably see between 0.5-1.5" of ice. Which is still enough to cause widespread power outages and make travel nearly impossible. The added kick in the balls is that after the storm passes temps will plummet so most of what falls will be here for a while.

Yep. It's a classic ice setup with the COLD temps to follow.

We're going to have a lot of them looking down at roads during the event to help monitor travel conditions. MDOT will have the link to view them.

SVD, does the temperature seems to be the biggest issue in all of this? It seems like it's going to be like 2021 all over again for N MS where they'll get 6-8 inches of snow but the temperature will stay below freezing throughout the week causing everything to just keep refreezing.
