    Josh Hubbard

    Sec play...
    37/101 (36.6%) fg
    14/50 (28.0%) 3 fg%
    16:9 assist to TO ratio

    Is there anyone more overrated?

5 of 10 tonight on freaking free throws! WTH? That right there was enough to cost us the game. One thing to have an off night from the field but the FT shooting should be pretty automatic.

Josh is a dawg and I am glad he is ours. But 5/10 on free throws is inexcusable, and he would agree with me. And his poor shooting often comes from poor shot selection. He is ball hogging at times and that needs to stop.

Something just ain't right. He shot an air ball wide open from corner too. I could come up with all kinds of theories but he was wayyyyyy off.

Just a slightly below ave Hubbard and we win easy. He had lots of dumb TO too. His D was especially bad.

Mentally, he looked like he wasn't there, idk?

Hubbard has kept us in so many games over his career that its hard to blame him, but he definitely hurt us last night

Hubbard is not the problem. The issue is that Jans did a bad job evaluating portal players and we are stuck with non SEC players overall. I really wish we would hire a recruiting/portal recruiter/evaluator. I really do think Jans is a good coach but I just don’t think he is getting the right players for his system. This year was over when we lost to San Francisco because we clearly aren’t good enough to win enough SEC games to make the tournament.

No, he is not the problem on this team but he was a major problem last night and significantly contributed to the loss. When your shooting guard cant shoot, even from the FT line, thats going to lose the game more times than not.

He had a drunken twitter meltdown, talked shit about OM fans, and this morning had to grovel to his OM message board subscribers that "he didn't mean it", lol.

All of which was in response to some Heat fan (who also happened to be an OM fan) ribbing him about the Thunder losing a regular season game (in January, lol)...

Beard pretty much gave the rest of the SEC the blueprint for shutting down Hubbard last night. Just about all the time, Hubbard is guarded by a taller player but Beard took it a step further and double teamed Beard with a 4 or 5 especially when Josh got near the corner or baseline on either side. This left a player open but they were not able to score enough to take advantage of it.

Hubbard has faced a lot of double teams, especially out front, but OM seemed to constantly put two tall players on Hubbard whenever he got within range. He was rarely able to get a good look and probably should have been driving to the basket from the get go as he did in the last two minutes.

UK mostly stopped Hubbard too. Beard didn't figure it out. Other teams been doing it all year, still can stop him from getting shots, he just didn't hit them. Josh got his shots.

That OM FT defense was awesome though.*** Other teams will try and copy that. Josh just hits two more of his 5 misses, we win and no one cares he had a bad shooting night. Josh used to be automatic at line, not this year.
