Interesting revenue numbers
Chase Parham tweeted out Mississippi revenue numbers for 24-25 and it made me smile:
Football$28MM plus
MBB- -$900K
WBB- -$7.4MM
Beisball- $1.1MM
Softball- -$3.1MM
A. Baseball is now a moneymaker for SEC schools
B. Baseball literally paid for Men's BB
C. Women's sports are such a drain on the pocketbook

That's interesting. Sounds like we should adjust the paychecks accordingly lol

Bring in almost nothing and have almost the exact same expenditures as does the men's team wouldn't you think?
-
Wait, revenue should be positive, right? Then you take expenditures out to figure profit/loss

Yes, this is a profit/loss scenario... athletics generate well over $100M in revenue.
Football: $28MM+
MBB: ($900K)
WBB: ($7.4MM)
Baseball: $1.1MM
Softball: ($3.1MM)

I would think that MSU Revenue would be about $30M less

An Accountant could put that under property, plant and equipment as overhead? If you added the cost for the new Dude into Baseball P&L, MSU wouldn?t make a profit on Baseball for 20+ years.

It was for the 2024 season- so yes unless they are still paying it off. No idea on that.
Baseball at State makes a profit also but we have that stadium bill to pay

You fixed it, women's sports are a $10.5M dollar flush down the toilet
Is that just travel? Or do they count the "scholarships" as expenses?
Seems SEC should make a Women's SEC that would limit travel to nothing. In micro conferences. Or make women's sports in the SEC as Division II.
MSU, Ole Miss, UAB, USM, Bama, Memphis, LSU, Tulane, UNO
Play home and away in the micro conference. No flights.

I can't wait for baseball tickets to go to actually worth to see what that number really should look like. When does that joke of pricing reset,2029? Maybe then people will actually have access to tickets without having to pay + $200 per seat per game plus fees. On seatgeek.

Said in the article no. That's a separate line item.

Depends how you see it. The prices will actually be at value (which people will likely drop tickets since they can't make a profit on them anymore) therefore I can go to the games at cost instead of paying for someone else's season tickets trying to go to a weekend sec series (once I'm able to get season tickets).
So yeah I'll spend more money overall but I'll get more value and actually be able to attend more games, which I can't do now.
