All of those who just whine on here (Tater, MS 7) start stepping up and going all in like everyone else has been.
I said prove me wrong. This would prove me wrong and get me excited. I'm an optimist and that's been noted but I'm not toxically optimistic and just undercutting Rosebowl's gig by passing his info off as if I'm some insider. If you think I'm a whiner because I tell one guy to stop being a ****in jackass then so be it. I'm gonna talk myself into 10+ wins by september regardless.

Loadholt got our foot in the door. But we still paid a pretty penny to get him here.

Absolutely- but he has shown respect to Loadholt for this to happen. Everybody wants this guy- so we arent getting him. But Loadholt got him to visit- so thats a big deal. It's usually extremely hard for us to get top recruits to even visit. Give Loadholt some ****ing credit

I would not be so sure. Texas has bowed out of this. LSU is definitely a threat as is Miami but it feel like Kiffin is focused on getting all of OM’s players and Miami has quite a big game to focus on. Our entire staff focus, at least offensive staff, is on Seaton.

I think we've outbid it to where it's a question of does he want money or a championship opportunity / thinks somewhere else gets him to be a top 5 draft pick.
We've apparently truly offered a stupid amount. As in way more than is reasonable. It's almost so much that it's actually a net negative; except for us the perception win and intangibles outweigh it back into being worth it.
He's not worth 4 mil to any other school but us.

I hope he has the best O Line this year. I want him to succeed as long as he is here.
Loadholt has only been here 1 season. The guy that's visiting is a product of Loadholt.

Amen.
Let's have CHURCH!!!

I'm not sure what I would do if we signed this guy. I know it's too good to be true, but it's fun to think about what our O would look like!!!

With our luck, we will sign him and have him injured by game 3

Mason Barton is coming in too unless he picks Tx on his visit there. Only allowed 2 sacks in 2025. Played 670+ snaps Full-time left tackle starter. 6'6 about 320. Will visit State.

Is he really that good of a player or “best in the portal”? Honest question. And yes I would be ecstatic if we signed him.

He's best in portal. 1st-2nd round talent. He's leaps and bounds better than any guy we have on OL now which isn't saying much but would ultimately improve a lot of things. About as good as the average Alabama OL.
The worth the price tag piece is for perception, fan engagement, and that having a competent OL is massive to our success. On a scale of 0-99 and 99 being Charles Cross with 0 being Jimothy Lewis, he's about an 88-89 imo. Around Derek Sherrod territory.

Excellent answer. We scored 30 ppg with an absolute trash O line. If our o line is just "good", we could be scary.

You can do the name calling all you want if it makes you feel smarter. That's fine by me.
He came because we paid him. He wasn't coming to shake hands with Loadholt and talk about the good ol' days without the money. Money got him here. No visit without the money.. doesn't matter who the coach is. If you told any of us to hop on a plane to go do a meet and greet for a measly 100k then it's a no brainer done deal. We would hit every university we could in the time frame we had. It's free money. You'd be an idiot not to visit. So agree to disagree.

I know he has been here for one year. Im referring to his previous season at Colorado also. His past 2 years have been rough. I'm hoping this year will be a much better year for him.

Good analysis. You just never know what “best in the portal” may equate to being. This may be that time where we’ve said we will have to overpay to get a top guy. It’s a good position to overpay for imo.
