29 points...over 400 yards with a shitty OL and a true freshman at QB. I thinks thats impressive.

Anybody that was surprised we would be bad on defense last night hasnt watched us play or is not very intelligent.

Lebby has shown nothing that he can be a successful HC for us and is headed toward the loser crowd bigtime. 7-18 and worse than that, 1 and 15 in the SEC, with that last-minute "signature win" over Arkansas. History shows that doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insanity. MSU football HC hiring is insane in my lifetime.
It's hard to convince a sitting HC to take our job. It's not that we have some affinity for OC's

Well... you know.. I can only speak to those I know and what I read. Even chatgpt and grok confirm that OU fans liked him and his system.

    Here is Chatgpt:

    One-Line Summary

OU fans miss Lebby because the offense was fast, explosive, QB-friendly, and felt modern

In 2023, OU ranked 4th nationally in total offense (507 yards/game)... yes the fans were LIVID over that! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Here is more:

    After Lebby Left (2024–2025)

Nostalgia and Regret: OU's offense declined sharply post-Lebby (e.g., lower scoring in SEC play). By late 2025, many fans missed his explosiveness, with posts like "Can we have Lebby back?" or "Making me miss Lebby." Struggles under successors highlighted his strengths in yards and points.

Here is Grok addressing your "he was being fired":

    3. Venables Was Not Pushing Him Out

    Key point:

    Venables trusted Lebby

The offense was seen as necessary during a defensive rebuild

No credible reporting indicated Venables was preparing to fire him

    OU did not:

    Force him out

    Demand a resignation

    Signal an upcoming dismissal

Do you think people are mad about the offensive coaching or the head coaching?

Lebby is about a 1.0 WAR Offensive Mind. He's about a -5.0 WAR Head coach.

No. It’s hard to get a sitting P4 coach to agree to come coach at State. It’s, in fact, reality straight forward getting a G5 or lower level coach with great success to come here. With that said, it doesn’t matter, when the super conference is formed in about 5 years we will be relegated to G5 anyway. Then we can show off our baseball stadium to the Kennesaw States of the world.

You asked ChatGPT. - Shows me you're a ****ing idiot.

I'm telling you as someone well connected with boosters at OU - he was going to be fired. We gave him a lifeline. Selmon saved OU some buyout money.

If you don't believe me - that's on you. I have long posted that I'm well connected within OU circles - way moreso than I am in State circles actually.

You are literally acting like a first year comp sci engineer trying to correct me on how Python works when I'm the one who wrote Python. That's the equivalent of your stupidity.

No... I'm telling you you are FULL OF SHIT! Straight forward, don't give a damn about your internet "connections". Lebby was NOT being fired for having the #3 offense in the nation.

BTW.. They dropped from #3 to 113th the year after.

You're a moron. He was maligned for his jet sweep affinity, lack of creativity, and perceived underperformance. OU fans have more intelligence than looking at basic stats. You are so high up on the dunning kruger mount of stupidity it's amazing you're breathing. The EPA he produced was nothing like the system he inherited from Lincoln Riley. He took a Ferrari and turned it into a Mustang.

The bottom fell out for OU going from the B12 to SEC and having the top 6 WRs injured along with Jackson Arnold being a lemon. (Lebby recruit) OU was healthy this year and now made the playoff.

But you - the smartest man in the world - looked at one stat a language learning model spit out and take that as gospel. You are so unbelievably dumb and everyone here is laughing.

So you?re telling me that Selmon gambled 100s of millions of dollars on a first time HC, who was about to be a fired OC, just to throw him a lifeline?

You have to question if Lebby was holding them back.
What were OK offensive numbers in 2023 vs 2024/2025?

No people are laughing at you. I live in that area and am sharing this with OU fans who are rolling in the floor at your ignorance. Nobody was firing the OC that had the #3 offense in the nation. You are a LIAR. Arnold was not the starter for Lebby. He came in when games were won and completed 64% of his passes. It's not Lebby's fault that Arnold crashed under the new OU OC. Dillon Gabriel was his QB and he completed 69% of his passes for an RTG of 172. He threw 30 TDs and Rushed for another 12.

    You are a dishonest hack.

The fact that you think their current offense is better than Lebby's while there is truly outing you. Lebby had the #3 offense in the nation when he took our job(they also had a horrible defense ranked 77th in the nation). They fell to 113th the following year. and this year... 90th! The only thing that kept them in games this year was the #7 in the nation defense .

The fact that you bring up the playoffs as if it's the same as it was is equally astonishing as your suggesting that OU was going to get rid of an OC who had the #3 offense in the nation. You see, Lebby was there when it was just 4 teams. Not 12. OU would not have gotten in this year if not for that. You are a dishonest prick that only wants to sow discord among the fans base.

    I'll give them to you.

2023, OU had the #3 offense in the nation. The #4 scoring offense. Lebby's offense.

2024, OU had the #113 ranked offense. Post Lebby

2025, OU had the 90th ranked offense. Post Lebby.

State had the 50th ranked offense this season.

Sounds like to me defense is much more the problem than offense. Get some linemen and some defensive coaches.

Man this board has become unbearable for me. Every thread just turns into name calling, nobody being wrong, and who has the bigger nuts. I get the frustration but some of y'all need to work on conversation skills. Real debating doesn't turn into name calling and pissing matches. We are all for Mississippi State. 99% of this board can't do a damn thing to influence our football seasons anyway so let's just step back from the ledge and talk amongst ourselves like men and hope and pray our administration does what needs to be done for State to be successful. Hostility and hatred has never had anything good come from it.

I can't remember a time when our fanbase was this dismantled. It's obvious something has to change.
