So 34 and friends. Just stop it! It ain?t coming from us middle income folks. It has to come from the wealthiest supporters and the rest of us buy tickets and yell like hell and ring our bell!
So let's use your math and say that 65% of the MSU fan base is made up of people who make 60K-70K/year. That's probably 35-40K people. If you can get those people to give $50/month, which is a drop in the hat, that's 21 million-24 million dollars in NIL. If you only asked for $25/month that's still 10.5 million-12 million.
So it actually can come from middle income folks. No one is asking you to give 5-10K/year to NIL. Just give $50/month. If you get enough people doing it, then it makes a difference. This isn't rocket science.

Need to win 4-5 home games and steal 1-2 on the road to be bowling. It's not an easy schedule, but it's easier than this year. We have winnable games at home.

Agreed. Telling folks on a message board to donate $10 more a month ain't moving the needle. We need to be creative in the athletic office. Other SEC schools recruiting billionaire grandkids and getting their NIL into the fold. Find them in non football sports and get them into the football sphere.

drop in the hat..... buddy we got different hats then! I feel like i've won the lottery if i finish the month with $50 left in my checking account... thats a month when something didn't go wrong(which rarely happens) We bring in 105k yearly but those last 4 years of Biden's inflation and the cost of supporting a family of 5 drained any savings I had. pair that with some not so good luck with batteries and appliances(tearing up) insurance thru the roof... hell my house payment is going up again in Jan due to taxes and Ins... I'm barley keeping my head above waqer.... work 3 jobs and never take vacations drive 20 year old vehicles at that.....

I agree. Just like LSU and the rest of the blue bloods. I'm friends with some serious LSU fans that make good money. They aren't contributing a penny other than tickets, etc.....

Oh no doubt. I'm right there with you. The difference is that because I cant send a few grand to support the purchase of talent- I have no expectations of winning. Im not gonna get pissed weekend over weekend when we are the less talented team.
And you better enjoy KT in 2026. Because if he has the year people are expecting- he will get bought away from us for 2027 by a blue blood that can help him win a Heisman.

It blows my mind that our fans can not grasp this. The only conclusion I can come up with is that those fans 100% believe that we are all of equal talent when stepping on to the field. WE ARE NOT.
List these games like he did saying we should win these ignores all reality. I mean ALL of it. Vandy a win? They won 9 this year and just took the #3 QB in AMERICA from UGA with money spent. Hell, do they even know who got THE #1 QB ... Houston! If we played Houston and got beat our fans would melt because "it's Houston" because they refuse to live in the here and now.
We have posters/fans complaining about winning and then complaining about taking from their kids to buy players. Look, it's not like that at all. It's the understanding that is the issue. If we can not compete in purchasing players, just stop with the whining and complaining about a coaching staff. Understand what it is.

OMG... THIS!!!!!!!!!!!
"Damn it!! LEBBY better win 'x' games or else because I won't STAND FOR IT!!". Yeah.. you won't stand for it, but you can't pay for it. If you can't pay for it, it's all good. Nobody is faulting the fans who can not. But those fans need to come back to earth and just live in reality.
This is the same thing as me saying to those fans "you have to go because you can not and will not produce a player of caliber for MS ST! It's YOUR FAULT FAN!" Just as stupid as the fan saying it's the coaching staff.

We certainly didn't have to execute near perfection to win 7. We had the most penalized team in the league and our special teams were some of the very worst in the league. And the things I'm talking about are doing stupid stuff and being undisciplined. I'm not talking about things where you just are outdone athletically. We were so far from perfection on how we executed that its not even worth discussing.

It's taken some time to work through, but it seems as though a majority on this board are now towards the end of the seven stages of grief w/ college football.
Some worked through it quicker than others, but nice to see a more logical board returning.
Private equity, though, will indeed kill college football - as expressed in the other thread. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. They will bleed it and us dry....

I thought A&M was on our 3 year list. We are going to have to spend way more than we are prepared to spend to go 6-6.

We go from 4 prior year playoff teams down to 3. We lose Aggy & Georgia but do gain Bama & OU. OM is very likely to be worse. We gain SCar, rebuilding Auburn, minnesota, and Vandy in a trade for Arizona State, UF, NIU, and Arky. Keep Texsa / Mizzou. LSU for UTenn. Wash with USM/FCS for ULM/FCS.
It's largely a wash compared to what we had this year, except this year we went in thinking it was murderer's row. Now with hindsight we don't think it's so bad. So next year has to be worse. But really
vs. Georgia > vs. Bama
@ Aggy > vs. OU
vs. Texsa ~ @ Texsa
@ Mizzou ~ vs. Mizzou
vs. LK OM > @ PG OM
vs. Tenn ~ @LSU
vs. ASU ~ vs. No Pavia Vandy
@ UF ~ vs. Aub
@ Ark ~ @ Minn
vs. NIU < @ SCar
@ USM > vs. ULM
vs. FCS ~ vs. FCS
You could argue Texsa is tougher next year and Mizzou is easier next year - that's why I washed those out. Other than that, we get largely the same and easier top end games. Then we trade a G5 non conference game for one of the bottom of the SEC road games. And OM becomes a much easier game.
Seems to me like it pretty clearly is easier than this year.

I agree. At some point, the federal gov will have to address this.

Teams that are bad on ST’s are teams that usually lack talent. Lack of coverage means you lack depth on defense as you try to keep starters off ST’s. How many kicks did we have blocked this year? One? That shows we protected well enough from the coaching standpoint.

We were not the most penalized team in the conference. Overall we were the 11th least penalized. In conference games only we were the 4th least penalized team. It's something we actually got better about as the season went on.
Did we have some crucially dumb penalties? Absolutely.

I think our floor is 2 wins and ceiling is 8. Everyone likes to talk about the games we "should" have won but there is also the reality that 2 of our wins were a play away from being losses.
6 wins would be a hell of an accomplishment and much much better than our 5 wins this year.
