Question
What if we lose our good grades bowl? What does it mean?
-
Haven't really thought about it. I'm just excited for KT to get an extra month of practice with the first team heading into the offseason.
Not sure what I would take from winning or losing.
-
Depends on how everything goes down.
-
Means we got alot of extra practice with him and the young guys to get better for 2026. KT getting another full game under his belt is a win even when he completes just 50% of his passes
This isnt hard
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is
-
It?s the practice not the game.
-
Well it?s both. We have an opportunity for Portal players to see us play with KT again before the portal opens. We need some big time OL and TEs to see him and the potential it has for them to be his horsemen.
-
It might get the fanbase rejuvenated a little, portal recruiting and more reps for the young guys. It’s all about next year really. Having KT going off is probably more important than winning the game.
-
Who cares, this is all gravy.
-
It means more guys will get cut and Lebby will have to be MORE aggressive in the portal.

This where I am. In the new system bowl games are little better than NFL pre season . Just play, hope to win, and make the most of the extra reps.
-
Then we have a 5 win season?just like now. If we don?t have the bowl we also have a 5 win season but KT doesn?t get 3 extra weeks of 1st team reps, or another game, ZA doesn?t get a month the evaluate live performance in practice and game, and the program misses a slice of bowl money.
The ?fans? and boosters that hate we are going to a bowl are a good cross section of the fans and boosters that are holding this program back. The same ones that think football is won by those who can claim moral high ground and keeping things traditional.

A loss will not mean much other then proving State is still a work in progress. A win however will mean progress is rapidly progressing. See what I did there.
After Bowl season there will likely be several 6-7 teams who entered the Bowl 6-6 which is of course normal qualifying record. If State is 6-7 after the Bowl game, that will be a promising result that encourages the fans for the 2026 season.

Yep.

Win or lose we already got the extra reps. OP question was about a win or a loss. A loss don't mean much to me but a win can really help the team and fan base moral. Bottom line we need a good feeling heading into next year and a win of any kind would do it.
-
Seems to me it means we have a staging environment for KT and the team to have extra practice and for ZA and other corches to observe and evaluate. That may be more beneficial than the score outcome of the game, although winning is better.
-
I don't really see any downside to going to a bowl for us. This could help springboard us next year.
-
Bowl games are an exhibition game equivalent to the 2nd NFL preseason game.

They count in the record. And I guarantee you the teams that lose have fans that care.
