No worries, man! I agree with you that there are better ways to make a bowl. I just don?t see the point in trying to take it away from Lebby. I want MSU to claw back to relevance. If a 5-7 bowl appearance is what puts us on the right path, I?m here for it. This is a bit of a bait post, but this is positive. Let Ole Miss tell us we only made a bowl because somebody else quit. Our own fans shouldn?t be the people posting that.

Also nobody argues that we had a 12 year bowl streak 2010-2022. Be consistent if you are going to complain about it just because you don?t like the coach

We talk discuss/debate things here as all State fans. Line it up outside of here us versus anything Ole Miss and you'll find us uniting under the banner of William Wallace.

Very true. As you mentioned.. you see things black and white. Someone else may see shades of Grey. In the end.. the picture is still the same but with everyones "touch" or "view" on it. We all want the same thing and when it comes to the nut cutting, we unite. Hail State my friends.

Agreed. Skipping the bowl game, whether it be a player or an entire team, is weak. IF it were me, Auburn skipping should trigger a money forfeiture to the other members in the conference. Even if MSU was willing to pick up the slack.

That's one perspective.... another perspective is that he got us to 5 wins which put us in the position of accepting this bowl game. # progress

Hey, our good intentions are admirable!!!

This is the difference between State fans and Ole Miss fans. If the roles were reversed all that would be on social media and forums form their fans would be how the program succeeded and the Mayo Bowl is one of the most prestigious non-playoff bowls. Over here at State, though, our favorite thing is to humble and belittle ourselves and then complain about non-relevance

And out of that solidarity, and my really good intentions, I will only drink clear liquor during the game instead of my usual mix of clear liquor, seltzers, beer, and canned vodka drinks.

It's also possible that we could lose money on the deal. Many of the smaller bowls don't pay enough to cover all of the invited teams travel expenses and a SEC team doesn't travel cheaply

That's why none of the SEC teams get the individual payout from the bowls. The SEC puts all the money in the pot from bowls and playoffs and evenly distributes it out with schools that made a bowl getting a larger cut.

No need to look at the formula under the hood. He did accomplish 3 of the 4 things we asked.
Next year:
- Beat Ole Miss
- Win all non-con
- Winning record in SEC play
- Upset a ranked opponent
Can we get 3 of those 4 next year?
He doesn't get credit for making a bowl game.
If "win an SEC game" is a goal for anyone in this administration, we deserve everything we get.
The goals are winning records and competence - two things that this coaching staff failed to achieve for the second year in a row.
