    Burnside

He gone. Wonder why he could never get on the field for us consistently? Issac Smith beat up all year, Manning was injured some, and we had 2 consistent WRs. He is every bit as talented as Ayden Williams and Tony Mitchell

It’s weird but also a theme is highly touted Mississippi recruits. There have certainly been some greats but there seem to be a majority that just never pan out for whatever reason.

Too much money tied up in him for no production. Wasn?t quick enough to play wide out and couldn?t crack two deep on defense. If you pay big money for high school guys they need to produce quickly.

That class had a lot of big names with zero production. Harrell and Burnside both gone.Best WR of that bunch is Frisco

Hate to say it, but a lot of these highly rated kids wouldn't last 2 weeks playing 6A ball in Texas, Georgia, or Florida. Competition level is just insanely different and it's hard to predict what these guys will do when they play against equally talented players.

I don?t know, maybe, but there have been A LOT out of Texas that were highly rated and lacked the physicality and upside to translate to P4. In fact Texas it was a joke for awhile. GA and Fla a different story, though.

I played high level ball and I live in Texas and I couldn't disagree with this more.

Sometimes being a stud in high school doesn?t always translate to being good in college. Some of it is work ethic, some of it is not being the best athlete on the field, and some has to do with NIL and the portal will make you complacent. These players are spoiled nowadays.

Texas is an entire country by itself, so you're going to get variation. West Texas may see a little more air raid and potent offenses. Duncanville you'll see a high level program with kids that can play damn near anywhere. But generally, I'll put the athletes at Grayson (GA), Duncanville (TX), IMG (FL), Buford (GA), Carrollton (GA), etc... up against the MS/AL all star teams any day of the week.

According to AI, 39 current NFL players (2025) went to high school in Gwinnett County, GA. 32 current NFL players (2025) went to high school in Mississippi. That's one Georgia county vs the entire state of Mississippi.

Agree. A lot of variables could creep in and dictate who makes it and who doesn't.

I'd put GA high school football up against any state in the country. The coaching, facilities, and investment is unbelievable. Even in small schools, the better programs regularly produce D1 players. Give me an OL of the best 2A schools south of Macon and watch us run.

Nah, Football is Football. If you can play and work hard it will show. Texas 6A schools is larger which gives them more players. However, their best vs another states best are very similar.

LK is going to LSU for a reason. LA athletes are jus that much better especially in the River parishes. That's why i hate When Mull left because he had made a big dent in LA high Schools and was about to get a pipeline from the New Orleans region.

What it comes down to is he didn't have a position. He's an athlete. Needs to figure out his identity as a player.

Since about 2020, the players who have been rated at the top in Mississippi have mostly not panned out. At some point, you have to question the who and why of who is doing the ratings.
