And imagine the freaking baseball team.
Oak coaches baseball
Beard basketball
New coach for football that both agrees on....
Whew, what a monster
?except combining them into one would basically negate the history of either and would reduce that passion significantly among the fanbases.

This is a terrible idea. Plenty of states compete with multiple universities in it.
Stop the boo hoo loser mentality and maybe we can move forward

Exactly. I wouldnt watch, I have OM friends but I do not want to associate with 80%+ of their fanbase. Just completely different cultures

I said this decades ago.....can you imagine a medical, Ag, architecture, business, law, AI, Digital imaging, nursing, med tech, landscape arch, etc school....not to mention the athletics....I think Cleveland did a story on this once and a couple of lawyers derailed it.....if memory serves.

All Mississippi needs is a small power consortium with the vision to accomplish it.

We keep our stadium, and mascot. They can keep The Grove for tailgating. Home games would be in Starkville but tailgating would be in Oxford lol. The Junction would be converted to a small bulldog themed entertainment venue kinda like a mini "Battery" for ATL Braves. We keep the baseball stadium they keep the basketball arena. VHS would be used as a football practice facility.
