Back home finally from the Egg Bowl and Basketball- a few thoughts and info shared

    1. The trip was what its all about as a Dad. My boys and I had the best time other than the losses. The tailgating, girl watching, the taunting of the Plantation fans, the games, just a good time watching them enjoy it so much. Really appreciate my tailgating buds that always welcome me in. Great people. Weather was perfect for a football Saturday

    2. Got to bring up Thursday one last time. You want people to take you seriously as a college town? Have some shit open when all the hotel rooms are booked in town for the big game. People lining up on 12 to get into Sonic for their Thanksgiving meal is ridiculous. People driving 4/5/6 hours to get there the night before for an 11am game deserve better.

    3. Interesting decision to make the switch for this game and I applaud him doing it. Kinda ****ed over Shapen altho he wasnt 100% but thats the Era we are in now. Shapen makes more money a year than I do- he can handle it. Dont really blame him or his parents being pissed about it all but I think them refusing to go thru Sr Day over it was a bad decision. It's your kids last college game. Dont throw a fit and make it about you. KT could have gotten hurt on the 5th play from scrimmage and its a different day all around. Just a bad look from the family side.

    4. KT did about as expected. Flashes of big ballin and flashes of he still has some shit to figure out. We probably score a few more points with Shapen at QB for the game (it was our 2nd worst scoring output of the season with KT at QB) but it wouldnt have mattered. Mississippi was going to outscore us regardless of what we did offensively. He was under 50% passing which was also expected. We didnt get but a couple of big passes with one being a short throw with lots of YAC- however his legs allowed him to make a couple of huge plays in the ballgame. Limited playbook but he handled it overall pretty well. Positives? He got a start under his belt and we passed of the torch. Shows alot of promise for 2026 to motivate fans and attract offensive pieces to play with him. Motivates boosters with NIL.

    5. Hutz had a pretty good gameplan. Control the run. Force them to beat you with the pass. And unfortunately- they did. Not sure if #4 is hot buttered toast or cinnamon- but toast he is. We lack speed at LB. Our pass rush non-existant. We cant tackle in space on D- and that is why we arent very good on that side of the ball. Hutz is almost 100% going to be replaced- but until we get more talent and speed on D- it wont matter who the DC is.

    6. Hearing boosters are committing to spending more in NIL in exchange for a new DC. Look for that to happen. No names as of yet. He's not being "forced" to fire his DC- but if he wants the funds necessary- change needs to happen

    7. Lebby is not going to be "forced" to hire an OC. thats not how things are going to go. If he does it will be his choice. Also expect him to call plays again in 2026.

    8. Basketball's problem for 2025-2026? We only have 3 Guard's that can play. We dont have a legit 3 guy. We have 2 athlete's that pay hard. Our starting G's are short and get shot over. They play hard- but 4-6 inches in length makes a big difference as most of your wives know. We can play 3 G's like we did last night and be solid- but it leaves us with no G depth.

    9. While we have lost guys over NIL- most of the reason is that guys cant stand Jans after awhile. He wears thin on ya day after day. This comes from people close to the program.

    10. Bring on beisball. See you guys in Dallas at the end of Feb.

Shapen's highest PFF grade this year: 75.5
Shapen's PFF grade for the season: 68.4

    KT's PFF grade yesterday: 73.1
KT's PFF grade for the season: 84.1

KT's performance yesterday in his first start was the basically the same as Shapen's best performance all year.

I can give you a stat on beer drinking at the tailgate, but at the end of the day- its how many beers were consumed.

How many points were scored? 2nd lowest all season. Thats just a fact

Sure but to say we would've scored more with Shapen is false. Sure, KT missed some throws but he also avoided sacks all day that Shapen would've taken and he also scored 2 TDs Shapen would've never dreamed of.

Not at all. Posting facts isnt being mad. I'm glad we started KT and got a whole game look. Lots to be excited about next season

It was brilliant by Lebby. If we start Shapen and lose, Lebby's seat is red hot. Start KT and he shows glimpses to dream on, and all-the-sudden, Lebby can sell that as how we get this fixed

The fact I posted was that it was our 2nd worst scoring output of the season- that's 100. Cant be disputed.

I said "We probably score a few more points with Shapen" because in 10 of 11 games we did. So the "probably" has a very high percentage of being true altho we will never know.

And I provided the analytical grades that show KT gave us essentially Shapen's best game this year. There are tons of other factors that go into points scored. Flags, missed blocks, drops, etc. All which are independent and outside of the QBs control. With what they could control, KT performed better than Shapen would have.

All you've got is point scored, and I get it and am not disputing that. But "Shapen would've scored more" is analytically wrong.

    We can move on now.

Per capita, I would put the girls at MSU up against any school. My son was very impressed as well.

You provided some statistical formula mess. I provided reality. And secondly- dont use quotes when I didnt say what you put in quotes. "we probably score more with Shapen" is the quote. The statement is based on what happened in real life 10 of 11 times- not in a math problem.

In his 15 starts at QB while at State- Shapen scored less than 21 points only 2 times. 13/15 chance is a pretty good "probably"

You're giving Shapen credit in one of the 10 games for scoring more that KT scored all 3 TDs we scored btw.

    Lies, damned lies, statistics.

Just because you don't understand the data, doesn't make it a "formula mess."

You're being intentionally obtuse, like you often are. Just like you were when you said we wouldn't hire Brian O'Connor. You were wrong in that instance too.

We played 3 playoff teams this year. KT and Shapen each played roughly 1.5 of those games. Shapen scored 9 points. KT scored 40 points.

    Stats are fun.
