I have never demanded that Lebby play any particular QB. He's the coach and can approach personnel decisions like he wants to. But when we blow multiple winnable games and turn a rare chance for an 8-4/9-3 type season into a 5-7 season with obvious coaching blunders, that's on him.
We got really lucky with our scheduling this year, with 7 of our 9 P4 opponents being worse than expected, 2 of them much worse, and did not take advantage of the opportunity that presented us. Maybe we'll get lucky again like that next year, but it's just as likely to go the other way.

The thing is most of the fanbase does still like Lebby. Now the message board diehards may not like him, but if you asked Avg Joe Fan from Attala Co he's going to tell you that while he's pissed we lost some games, he likes the progress. I think far too often, and I'm guilty of it as well, we take what is posted on a message board as an edict put out by the entire fan base. I would venture a guess that about 15%-20% of the overall fan base regularly posts on message boards, and it's probably a hell of a lot lower than that. Like I said, I know I'm guilty of it at times as well, but most fans don't post on message boards and they don't really pay attention to them.

So the ones that spend all day, every day thinking abiut this aren't in favor of Lebby, but the ones that don't really pay much attention like Lebby. If that's true, man, that ain't really a good thing for Lebby

I just don't think this is true. I don't live in Attala County or ever go there, but basically everyone I talk to in Rankin County is ready to move on, to the point where I'm probably a little bit into the "pro-Lebby" half of my sample because I'm at least going to keep my word after saying I wouldn't demand to fire him after he beat Arkansas.
Also, it seems like Twitter and Facebook comments are even more overwhelmingly negative than the message boards are.

You are correct.. social media is way, way more negative from what I've seen. And that's just from accounts that I follow. Also just from my group of friends and State fans, most of not all are not happy with him. I'm not to that point myself. I can see all arguments for the most part. He has done some good and done some bad. Most people seem to take one side and run with it though. Me personally, I don't think he needs to be fired. Next year will determine that outcome and seems like most people on this board feel that way.

Well now that is 1000% true. Social Media is god awful
But again, that kind of falls into the message board category, especially the burner accts.
And that's great that everyone in Rankin Co wants him gone, they also wanted Arnett to be the HC so I don't really trust their opinion on coaching abilities.
Look we've had a better year. It's been maddening at times and downright frustrating at times. But you can tell we're headed in the right direction.
Now, back to the coaching mega thread. Kiffin GONE

Per Keith Carter... the announcement on Kiffins decision will be announced after the Egg Bowl. Blowing up on Twitter right now. He is gone!

Going into this morning, I didn't think that was an option. I really didn't. I mean Lane basically told Keith and Boyce to eat shit and like it. I mean they now are going to have a, for lack of a better term, lame duck coaching them with a playoff berth on the line.
This weekend and next week is going to be ALL KINDS OF UNCOMFORTABLE in Oxford, MS.

You think the outcome of the game determines the decision or is the decision already made?
Why would you allow him to coach the Egg Bowl if he is leaving? Maybe just to get the win and get a spot in the playoffs? Coach with an interim from there.

It tells me that Lane has made his decision, he wants to go to LSU but coach OM til the end of the season, but OM doesn't believe they have enough to suspend him.

Haha, do you really think he would make a life-altering decision for himself and his family based on the outcome of the friggin EB against a 5-6 State team??? 😂😂😂

They have no choice because they want fire him with the buyout. He has Ole Dixie by the n$tt$. He wins regardless.

If they lose I doubt they make the playoffs and he goes to LSU. A win and they are in. So yes, it's a possibility the Egg Bowl could determine his outcome. I think his mind is made up and is going to LSU no matter what tho. But never know.
SVS.. gotcha man, thanks. That makes sense. I guess Lane does hold all the cards after all.

After the BS he has pulled, unless he is fired, LSU may be his last college stop.

If we beat them and Kiffin bolts to BR there is no way OM is in the playoffs. You can write it in blood. A loss to your down in the dumps rival and your head coach leaves to go elsewhere, no they aren?t making the playoffs.

So who does OM go after? I would imagine they will fund the hell out of their NIL for whoever for at least 1 season

Yep.. which makes a win that much better. Their coach leaves and we ruin their dream season! Lebby and staff has an opportunity to make some people very happy

100% gone. If he was staying , it would be announced before the EB. There is no doubt about that.

I was at Barber shop the other day, my barber is a State fan. There was another State fan in there. They both think Lebby is terrible. No idea if they post on message boards or are on social media. Just a small example. I work closely with another State fan. He thinks Lebby is terrible.
I'm still on the fence.
