Prediction: Sumrall to OM. Judge Interim for the Egg. Kiffin 14 mil / 7 year to LSU.

That's the hot news being shared in every circle right now. Auburn angry that they missed on Sumrall.

Had multiple people swear on it. I think the Judge thing has the possibility for the greatest inside man job of all time if he can have them throw the Egg Bowl.

We'll see if it's all bullshit pretty quickly tomorrow - but I've had the two folks I trust the most with rumors tell me. And that means if it's made its way to Oklahoma circles then it's out and about. Lane is so ****in messy. Dan had the courtesy to leave us in the middle of the night.

I know Ole Miss would want Sumrall and he would be their first choice but why would he pick them over Auburn?

And yes, I know that John Cohen is their AD.

Auburn is a worse football job to be at than Mississippi State or Vanderbilt. They are actually the worst job in the SEC. Championship expectations with mediocre money and complete stupidity steering the ship.

They can't compete now that everyone can pay players and Cohen doesn't know how to navigate NIL.

They've not won more than 6 games since Malzahn's penultimate year. That means 3 coaches and 6 straight years of 6 wins or less. And they are firing for unreasonable expectations not being met.

Can't argue with a word of that. Ya hate to see it! Hahaha

And again, Malzahn is a great coach. 8-4 with occasional 9 win seasons wasn't good enough for them.

I think this "ole miss is a good job" will fade after Kiffin. But it shows us all that in this era of football it is just as important to have a coach that galvanizes and energizes the fan base. Winning is big, but also a connection with the fans, and money flow.

Perhaps wrong here, but a Sumrall for example will be following Kiffin, and those TSUN clowns are gonna miss their snarky tweets from their HC. I don't think the next coach gets all the leeway , and if he is only winning 7-8 games they will still be thinking they are a big program and deserve better.

The next coach has more expectations now at Ole Miss because Kiffin convinced them this is their new standard of 10+ wins every year.
It will be the new Auburn.

Olemiss has money but I don?t think they can sustain what they are trying to spend right now. Because they are cultish about winning at football they are overextending themselves and it looks good to potential coaches; but they will never have more money than the usual suspects, who will just up their spending to get players.

With lane, he gets grace for losing games that he shouldn?t have b/c he is so much like them and brings them attention that they crave. If you look at last year, how in the hell did they not make the playoffs with their roster and schedule? This year, they will get into the playoffs but I?ll bet if they don?t stumble upon Chambliss and had to rely on Simmons, they don?t make it.

The schedule changes next year and Lane has to be thinking about that. How long does it take the shitheads to grow tired of paying Kiffin 13M a year and not make the playoffs b/c the schedule got tougher? They are going to spend a ton but so will everyone else and lsu, bama, Georgia, texas, etc. will always be sexier picks for the players; i don?t care how charming the square is or how snarky the coach is.

Sumrall was told by Sexton the OM job will be available soon. That?s why he pulled his name from Florida. There is a lot more stability at OM than Florida or Auburn.

Agreed. He's the entire face of their program. Even his damn dog is basically their de-facto mascot. The last time they had CGD, he was thee celebrity picker! When he leaves, it will be almost impossible to replace the void he leaves behind. Not to say they will plummet back down to earth, but they will most certainly take a big step back. Who they replace him with will obviously loom large...as we know from experience how a bad hire can tank a program...

No doubt with Kiffin leaving Ole Dixie and them replacing him want be even close to what they have done the last few years. Going to be interesting watching the meltdown, Kiffin was the best hire since Johnny Vaught. But the natives will be making excuses and the hate with Kiffin will be wild.

As of yesterday afternoon, Sumrall was back on Floridas radar. I think the initial "pullback" from both Sumrall and UF's side was some confidence that UF may get Kiffin. Once that pivoted to LSU, Sumrall is back in the mix at UF

Wishful thinking on my part but Judge passed on us not the other way around. Him going to OM as a QB analyst is a weird benedict arnold moment. But the inside job could be fully realized.

That's next season. Reminds me of the Sinners movie comment by Delta Slim. "You offering $20 TO-NIGHT. They given me $10 every night." OM bags cannot sustain 40 mil every year. LSU can easily do that. Big bank take little bank and Lane knows he can't get $120 mil over 3 years committed and believe it from OM. LSU he gets $300 mil in NIL over the next 7 easily.

He rightly sees them as more unstable. He wrongly sees them as jobs with 'higher expectations'. He thinks he can meet OM expectations but let me tell ya. 8-4 or worse x3 while Lane smacks them every year and especially if he loses an egg or 3 - they firing him. Hell - if he doesn't make the playoffs within 2 years the plantation will get restless.
