QB position is the hardest position to learn on offense. KT is very young, 18 years old I think, with the more snaps he gets moving forward and the athletic ability he has will or should improve a lot. First off, this offense was made or designed for Shapen, it's not what KT does best, and I expect this spring Lebby will design the offense more around what KT does best.

The team does not want KT over Shapen. That is just plain false. They support both and both QB's are tight. KT will be the first to tell you that Blake and the coaches have helped him and pushed him tremendously.

The issue seems to me to be thst there are 5 to 6 scripted plays on the first drive and state scores. Then for the next 2 and 1/2 qtrs the opposing defense knows which play is coming when and has also figured out the line can't block for more the 5 plays per 8 play drive so the offense gets shut down. Sounds more like a coaching and recruiting problem than a QB problem.
Lets fact check our P4 games

    ASU- 48yd TD pass
Tenn- 3 and out but muffed punt saves us
    A&M- 3 and out
UF- KT TD with 48yd completion by Shapen
    TX- 3 and out
Ark- PI on 3rd and 9 then a 39yd completion by Shapen later. TD end result
UGA- Probably our only complete drive. Results in KT rush TD

To me that says we are both kind of right. Script is good to start and we fall off slightly but Shapen misses on the home runs a lot and never settles into a game.

vs uga 3q ~ swing to thompson and slant to t/e at goal line. swing to t/e, deep ball to thompason. yes, he can make every throw this offense requires. he's making the correct reads. he continues to settle down and not panic with more snaps

This QB situation has added to the Lebby "doubt". I support the notion that Shapen gives us the best chance at winning. However, we should have been using KT more than we did ( we've had plenty of opportunities earlier in the season), and he sometimes puts him in at puzzling situations. 1st and 15....let's put KT in because everyone in the world knows he is going to keep the ball himself and run.
There have been other times like this that made me say WTF?!?!

Well I think he'd probably like to have that one back. Because it was 1st and 10 and we have a false start. We probably should've ran Blake back out there instead of just sticking with the same play.

I was listening to the radio broadcast, so didn't see it myself, but Matt said KT subbed in after the false start.
