    Starting QB for Saturday

Will be Shapen. He is hurt and not 100% but will start the game regardless.

    Prepare accordingly.

Hopefully we can protect him. He's a good qb when you give him time

I wish the coach understood that we can't protect him (we all know that) and plan accordingly. Saying, "they have block," isn't a plan when it has been proven they can't block.

If Lebby is starting him he is 100%. I know this is going to blow peoples 17 minds but Lebby does actually want to win and he feels Shapen gives us the best chance to do that. And since Mizzou stuffs the run, and that is the biggest weapon for Kamario, I tend to agree. Is that saying both will not play? No. They both are going to play. I expect Kamario to get the 2nd or 3rd series and see what he can do with it. Now, if he does not not succeed, let’s refrain from saying it is the line, or the RBs, or the WRs. Because that is how we treat Shapen. Let’s be equal with this.

sigh, kamario can make every throw that shapen can make including some shapen cannot make. he's proven it the last two games. swing pass to brenan, slant to the TE, multiple deep balls.

Also, kamario ran for 27 on 3rd & 10 vs UGA. on 3&10 in redzone vs Ark, he scrambles for a 15 yd TD. those two plays are special.

you start and play Kamario vs Mizzou, you win and likely win comfortably.

then, you have two weeks to prepare for OM at home at noon which is a carbon copy of last week vs UGA. Kamario plays the entire EB and we probably win, in a close one.

then, all of the big time instate recruits who are committed to out of state schools reconsider MSU due to Kamario being here next year.

this is nothing like the all time play the backup qb situation we've heard year in a out at MSU. this is different. kamario is different, he's Dak 2.0 and he's ready. he's better than shapen.

Shapen will be gone in 3 weeks. thanks for your contributions. Seems like a good person. Kamario, hopefully, will be here for a few more years.

Lebby will have his Hurts/Tua moment this weekend. The Shapen signature 3 and out first drive will be domino 1 then a few sacks and missed throws later it will be time. Let KT work us out of a bit of a hole and ride that momentum to a big road W and an egg bowl upset. 8 win season incoming sooner than expected.

Shapen better shorten up his pass plays. Dude might have had a very upper body injury last week and is susceptible to more. And you better believe they are going to load the box and come after. Hope he has his injury insurance paid up/. But in real world if he gets hurt on a sack Leb should be held accountable.

I think Shapen has taken too much heat from the fanbase bc of the shiny unknown QB behind him but he is definitely a serviceable QB for us. I dont think it is on him how bad our OL is but I lean towards KT to gain mobility and build a future

Uh... I believe State has scored on their first drive all but twice this season with Shapen behind center. That is 8 out of 10 games scoring on their first drive.

The issue seems to me to be thst there are 5 to 6 scripted plays on the first drive and state scores. Then for the next 2 and 1/2 qtrs the opposing defense knows which play is coming when and has also figured out the line can't block for more the 5 plays per 8 play drive so the offense gets shut down. Sounds more like a coaching and recruiting problem than a QB problem.

Man if KT starts and shows out in the Egg Bowl.. it could definitely shift our recruitment as long as we are also willing to pay. That excites me... and I shouldn't get excited cause I know what that gets you as a State fan. Lol

Reese is going to play so that should help the line immensely.

A lot of in state commits are already reconsidering MSU in part because of KT. Our future is very bright. And with all of the coaching turnover I think we get some in state guys that we lost back.

In the present however, he is still learning. I think Lebby is handling this the right way. Start Shapen. Continue to let KT develop at his own pace. I think that has been key in KT's development so far. He'll be ready to start next year.

I like KT and the kid has a ton of potential but I'm genuinely curious what passes in particular have you watched KT make that has convinced you he's capable right now to make every throw Shapen can and can't? The way I've seen the past few weeks is KT is very lucky to not have at least 2 picks. Some of his passes have been way off.

Yeah, this is what I see also. His throws for the most part are way off. But my God you can see the talent just oozing out of him! He can those 40 yard bombs with the flick of his wrist. He's gonna be special.

    agree

except for the fact that when Lebby decides who to play when always leaves me scratching my head. start shapen....have KT there when offense bogs down...then vice versa. that is not a long term solution for winning but we need one win in two games.

This is probably the best course of action. At this point, a 2 QB won't hurt us. Just roll with the hot hand after the first 3 series. And once they bog down, like you said, make the switch.

damn. how many of Shapen's passes have been way off. numerous overthrows on wideass open Tds. Why do you KT haters fail to note that. He can't run. He takes sacks, He threw an interception to a fat ass Fla. lineman with no Maroon in sight. The team wants KT. If we want to win play KT.

Really? And how do you know this? I'm being serious. Because all I've seen and heard is that the team is completely behind whoever is playing QB, whether that be Blake or Kamario. Hell Blake and Kamario are legit good friends and very close.

However bad you think Shapen's passing is right now KT's is worse. He has a lot of work to do in the passing area. I believe he'll get there but it won't be this weekend. I mean have you not watched his throws? He's got 19 of them so far. One was an easy pass out to the flat last week that he threw so far off target the announcers were stunned.
