I love your enthusiasm about women's basketball JDelta.

I know it's only Jackson State but I watch alot of basketball and From a talent standpoint this is the best team Purcell has had on campus. We have a ton of weapons.. our Freshman look really good... we have solid post play and we just got Saniyah King back who looks like a legit point guard. I know we will have our ups and downs but if Purcell can keep this group around we will be special.

Definitely a nice looking young lady but beyond that she will be our best player since Rickea Jackson. We need to get out and support these young ladies... this is a good team.. again we will have ups and downs as we can see

Yes to all of that with Madison. And likely without all the drama.

JD, what do you know about the 2 recent signees for next year (Lani Smallwood and Andrea Flores)? Both look fluid and athletic. Flores, 5' 10" guard, is from Tennessee and appears to be a shooter. Smallwood, 5' 7" guard, is from Alabama. In her videos she appears to be a left handed shooter.

I really like the physical play of C Prater and K Richardson. Both are beating on their respective opposing players. However K Richardson is trying to do too much on offense. She is a good position defender and does a good job of denying post position. T Crisp, F Nwaedozi, and D McPhaul also were doing a good job playing through contact. Nwaedozi really understands angles and spacing. I like her ability to seal off even bigger defenders and score through contact and draw fouls. Same for her block outs for defensive rebounds.

This was a good experience for M Francis. She was visibly frustrated getting backed down by the larger JSU posts. She didn’t do a good job denying post position and allowed the opposing player good angles to the basket. She can’t block every shot.

I’m withholding judgment on S King but it was good to have her back on the court. However I’m a little concerned she allowed her opponent to turn the corner on her a couple of times.

Overall JSU was a solid win. They were big and physical. That was a great game to prepare for Texas Tech. With the right combination on the floor this team can be hell defensively. They just need to string together more consistent spurts of effort. When they got up tonight their concentration waned.

Also, our next opponent Texas Tech plays Arkansas Sunday so we will get another look. However they are very guard heavy and their guards have great height. It will be interesting to see how we play. It could easily be the Davidson game again.

Appear two solid top 100 players/pickups for Miss. State Women's Basketball program.
Will put some info together on these 2 and post it

    Andrea Flores- Andra Espinoza Hunter
Lani Smallwood- appears a talented blue-collar, throwback type player from back in the day of Pat Summitt coaching era.

Appears both will need to come in and get on/be on point defensively playing for Coach Sam Purcell. If they can defend Purcell ...more inclined to play them more as freshmen.
