I agree 100%.... Jans was just asked about Epps twice in today's press conference and he gave a very vague and brief answer both times and didn't want to talk about, so something is definitely going on. Not sure what but its something.

In any leadership role you cannot apply a 'one size fits all'. You have to adjust your approach as a coach with different player personalities.

So Jans should yell at some and coddle others? I would rather him be the same either way to all

Coddling is not an approach. You don't nurse or pamper anybody.

While I understand the point your making I actually disagree. Even while being an NCO in the military I learned I couldn't treat everyone the same.. Yes the standards were the same across the board but everyone doesn't respond the same way to discipline. You dont necessarily treat people differently but your approach can be different depending on personalities and circumstances.
As some have already alluded to, Jans isnt really a personable guy.. I dont mind the hard coaching but he can be a bit overboard on the guys publicly at times.

Jans ran Taylor off or Taylor left, whatever. Taylor never played for anyone again.
Jans ran clary off or clary left, whatever. Clary is playing 14.5 mins/game at ok st. He's avg 4.5 PPG while shooting 18.2% from the field.
If these are the guys that Jans is catching heat over, it should be for missing on them, not mistreating them.

Both of those guys were supposed to be good coming into State, they weren't for whatever reason for us but they were sought after in the portal. I dont think stats play a part in losing guys early in the season. James Horton also left early in Jans' 1st season..
Despite all of that it would be a shame to lose Epps this early because we need gaurd depth. Ill tell you a guy we could use right now and thats Martavious Russell, he is averaging about 15 ppg at ULM and looking good doing it, I saw him play the other night and he looks good. Trey Fort is also playing solid for Tom Izzo at Michigan State as well. Playing 17 mpg averaging around 7 ppg 2.5 rebs.. Fort started 1 of 2 games. (Neither of those guys have anything to do with this, just throwing that out)
