No a new A&M hire will always beat that. Watching them join a cult never gets old.

If Elko winds up at Penn State that's why.

That would be the only reason to leave. A&M has a war chest and looks to have finally gotten out of the way and let the coach do the coaching and recruiting and they just cut the checks. It took Texas a while to figure this out, but they finally did as well.

Strong rumor out of Arkansas.
Ryan Silverfield will be the next head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Those are the Bluebloods of the SEC
Blue blood of the SEC sure, though their championship was the furthest back. They have been more bad than good since then. Also there are 8 teams, Texas and Oklahoma are above them. Thought he meant college football blue blood.

I've heard James Franklin this morning. That would be an INCREDIBLE pull for them.

he was clearly a fraud once you heard him speak about football. of all the things cohen did as AD the single most absolutely dumbest was being fooled by JoMo. there is not a single thing on this earth that would lead me to believe that any halfway competent human being should have been gullible enough to fall for his shtick and think he could run a p5 program...much less one in the SEC.

There was an Arkansas podcaster saying keep an eye on James Franklin last night but I'm taking that one with a truck load of salt.

Joe is a snake oil salesman. He has yet to have a winning season at Akron. He can't even beat teams in his own conference. Cohen fell for it hook, line and sinker.

It's more real than you think. The DFW Arkansas guys were a little butthurt last weekend because: A) They blew a 14 pt lead on their home field and B) Lashlee signed the SMU extension and got an updet win over Miami. But to their credit, they dusted themselves off Sunday morning and got on the phone and started making calls to John Tyson, the Hunts, Yurachek, etc. and started really upping things from a salary and NIL perspective.

When a HC tells his assistant coaches "I'm not gonna run that shit I dont care how many games we lose" it shows he is clearly not the guy for the job because he refuses to adapt to the talent that he has.

I will to this day never understand how Hud convinced him to run that spread option, speed sweep hybrid type offense we ran against Auburn in 18. I mean it confirmed fact that Hud walked into his office and said he'd quit if we didn't. But Joe never really cared what his assistants thought honestly.

There's rumors that there's WalMart money involved this time. I have no clue to the validity of that one because the last time I talked to anyone that would know about that stuff, the Walton's and any of their family members don't really donate to Arkansas outside of the Business School. Mr. Sam was a massive Razorback fan, but the rest of the kids and grandkids really don't give a rip about it tbh

Huff and Hud put together those game plans for Joe against AU and A&M. They delivered to him two victories on a silver platter. He still bitched about it.
That's up there with Croom chewing out Wes Carrol for audibling out of a run play to a pass play, getting the wide open TD and winning the game. Croom told him you run the play called, don't change it. Wes saw the defense had loaded the box and was man coverage.

They had been trying to get him to do more of it in previous weeks and it came to a head after the Fla loss. When it worked for Auburn and made Jovester look bad- thats when he declared running his shit was more important than winning.

I still remember our team almost being late to the 08 game at La Tech because Croom's lazy ass didn't want to leave. We already were leaving a day late because he'd changed the plan and wanted to leave day of the game. Our players thought they were going to have to board the flight in everything but shoulder pads and helmets. As many good memories as he gave us in 07, he wiped them all away in 08 with his laziness and just thinking he had it made.

An arkansas person mentioned their next AD might be someone with connections to the Stephens family to maybe get that money also. But I have no info really on Arkansas folk.

no doubt
but my point is that it damn sure didn't take til then to know it. as soon as he got behind the podium and started talking at his opening presser i was like "oh s__t"!
you should know as much as anyone that in order to lead any group or a team...much less 18-24 yr old young men...you must project confidence, knowledge, and inspire. and i'm not talking about fake projection, you have to really give off those inherent traits. and no one can spot a fake faster than a group of young people on a sports team. i've witnessed it so many times where the exact same words from two different individuals have vastly different effects on a team. the players must have confidence and belief that their leader is competent and can back up what they are trying to say. i just find it hard to believe that anyone and i mean ANYONE that has been in the coaching realm of the sports world couldn't spot the phoniness in JoMo from second 1.
