Lockhart is finally getting some run.
Thanks, appreciate your post, but it's sure not keeping 47 teams ahead of us at this point with loading up with many highly rated 3 stars, 4 stars and 5's to the Bluest of Bloods. I read about our class last year, HS and Portal was for depth and get enough on the practice/scout team to even be able to have a positive practice session. So, your're telling me we have to do this two classes in a row? We are either poorer than I thought or no one very highly ranked in HS wants to play for a program rebuilding from the bottom, 0-8 last year. 0-2 this YTD and a 14 game SEC losing streak. Beat FL, win a couple more and get some meaningful flips, process some of these Scout team players, and also work the portal better. BTW, we hit the portal hard for OL last year and still having to play Luke Work, a true Soph out of position and Jimothy Lewis who is not ready. Read here we paid big $ for one in particular and the return on these investments is a weakness of the team even before the injuries. Must have had to overpay or poor evaluations for portal OL. Hail State!

We probably need about $30M to retain who we want and get who we need. If we want to go to a bowl.

Commitment from JC Safety. Rated .86. We are by far his best offer to date. Now rated #46 nationally. How many "Scout Team" rosters do we need to sign? We must beat Arkansas and steal one to get to 6-6 and a bowl to process some and flip some players. In today's portal, build a new roster every Spring/Fall, very few good players want to play for a rebuilding program vs. a winning program. We are in a mess. Just win, Baby, starting at Arkansas.

Whatever we paid last year was enough. We currently have a team to win 8 games. The coaches have to do a better job of scheming and situational football.

Look at all the current turmoil, and potential turmoil, in the SEC. We are in a great position to steal some BIG TIME IMMEDIATE IMPACT guys if we can get to 6 wins. I think even at 4 we could still have a really good portal class. We've shown upward mobility and players can be shown that we're right there. They can be convinced that they are the missing piece.

Sure but will we be able to write the check? That is 80% of it

Unless our big boosters jump off board in the last 4 weeks we will. Our boosters that actually make a difference are still 100% behind Lebby

Good to hear. I think we have a huge chance to make a big splash next year.

We HAVE TO start seeing the big picture in football for us to have success. Switching coaches every time we get pissed off isn't always the right thing to do.
I really honestly think that we can succeed in this era of football IF MSU chooses to do what it needs to do and stops coming up with reasons why "we can't".
Historically MSU just isn't used to investing in football and the fans aren't used to spending money to acquire players- and in fact it was highly discouraged by MSU. And look- that was a different era so pointing fingers isn't exactly the most productive thing here but MSU has to get out of that mindset.

And this is the big picture. This is what our fans should be thinking rather than "Hey let's get USM's coach."

I will cancel my HULU and never go back to a football game if we fire Lebby and hire USMs coach.

Agreed man. Stability is the foundation that we need right now! Money is the second most important thing we need. But no one wants to play for a program when they dont know who their coach will be at the end of every season, no matter how much money you throw at them. The foundation has to be there. Then you spend the money and build from there. I think Lebby is the guy that we build around.. just give him some time. Recruits will come once they see what he has consistently done with players like Thompson, Evans, Fluff, Jones, etc.

We have dropped to #48 nationally. We lost the commitment of an IOL from Copiah Lincoln CC on Halloween day. He was ranked .87 6'8" 310 lbs and #2 at his position in Mississippi #14 nationally to Georgia of all schools. Now, let's beat Georgia Saturday and flip him back. Hail State!

He must not care if he starts next season then.

It will be interesting to watch what happens with the Mississippi guys committed to programs without HCs.
Right now that is:
Bralan Womack-Auburn
Jase Matthews-Auburn
JaReylan McCoy-Florida
Bryson Cooley-LSU
I know we are expecting Cooley to end up in our class. I don't expect Womack or Matthews. I expect Womack will still end up out of state, and may very well stick with Auburn. I expect Matthews is OM's signing day plant. No clue what is going on with McCoy.

Rumor out of HA is that Auburn had put a lot of money toward Womack..so much so he was on a snap count much of this year.

I've watched him play since Jr. high. He takes a lot of plays off.

Mathews got hurt didn't he? I could see us getting him if there is concern over his ACL.
