Supposedly he has told LSU no and is signing an extension with Tulane

You can't win at VT anymore. That will sunset Franklin's career

Sumrall wants the UK job. He is just waiting for that to open up. I?m still not 100 percent sold on him as a coach though. He still has a roster of Fritz players. Of course Houston would be lucky and get him to be their head coach because his daughter and grandkids are there. I was hoping we would?ve got him in the last cycle.

It would really break my heart if a few of these schools get left out in the cold and must settle for a 2nd or 3rd tier coach. (insert sarcasm)
Everyone's not gonna get that "on fire, next best thing" coach.

If I was Lane, I would go to UF over LSU. Those corn dogs are crazy and it seems like that situation is toxic. I think Mullen and Napier just didn't jive with Spurrier who seems to kind of run the football program there.

I think with the playoff expansion it gives coaches at all FBS schools a greater chance of getting into it. Especially the ones in the AAC which is by far the best none P4 conference. Sure it will be harder for someone like like Sumrall to win it all with Tulane talent than if he was at LSU with their talent, but it?s not like all the teams outside the traditional powers are left out in the cold. If the school is willing to match or get close to what the blue blood is offering, I think it will cause less coaches to jump around. Unless your a Mullen who just constantly wants to job hop every year

Everything I've heard is that his stance has softened on this. He now sees that they are going to go all in on Basketball with NIL and he knows that will set him up for failure. If they'd give him the resources there I think he could be good, but they won't do that.

Also why I dont think Kentucky will open up this cycle. They have to pay Stoops a ton to fire him and then hire another. They will just save that money another year

Seems the coaching firing and hiring is also just to keep boosters excited to keep chunking money to NIL. I don't see any coaching changes other than Lane, really making more than a one game difference in these teams unless the NIL helps improve their rosters.
