This is a really dumb area to try to steer this thread too.

If you're gonna make that comment - make it funny enough to let slide or don't say it at all man. As an example, your comment could have been:

"He's worried about the wrong SNAPs"
"Once the game starts, it's gonna be easy." - Lebron, July 10th, 2010

"No one ever said it's gonna be easy." - Lebron, June 12th, 2011

If we're losing elite players based on message board posts then our reach is WAY better than I anticipated.

I sat with his uncle on Saturday and told him his dad needs to stay off the Twitter. His uncle did tell me his dad talks about the transfer portal but we have no worry about losing KT.

Says he has a deep love for Mississippi State and he?s dreamed of this since he was 5. Said also him and his brother want to win the first natty for us, love the mindset.

I remember when I was getting recruited.. the first thing I would do before considering that school was check out message boards for said school.

Hell, it's like that for some of our posters already that aren't even his Dad.

This is all true. Like I said before, KT isn't some random QB from Texas or something that just wants to play QB at a SEC school. He loves MSU and it's his dream to play QB here. His brother is also going to be on the team next year too. His uncle played QB at MSU. He's going to be a great QB for us when his career his over IMO. And yes, he needs to develop but his ceiling is the highest of any MSU QB I have ever seen- and yes, that includes Dak IMO. I think he'll get there.

Main question I'm starting to have is can he master this offense. Pre portal/NIL coaches could have the luxury of sitting their QBs and taking 2 years to work them into their system and the RPO is a little more complicated than deciding on when to pitch the ball. And so far he has not comprehending even the reads. No fault of his own he is a freshman. If he isn't starting to grasp the offense maybe Leb needs to hire someone who can get him to understand the offense. Just because you're a very smart coach doesn't mean you can teach. And everyone learns at a different pace. Trust me the Army is famous for getting dumbasses to be able to understand how to fly helicopters and Trig to shoot artillery. Trust me I was one of those dumbasses who got a sergeant to show me laws of static pressure with a garden hose. If your student is giving you the blank stare when you are trying to teach him maybe you might want to try a different strategy.

Well said man! Everyone learns differently. I agree with hiring someone specifically to help KT. Lebby can't stop practice all the time to break down things for him. Hiring someone to explain things and simplify them would be the way to go.

I'm not too concerned about KT learning the offense at this point because he is a true freshman. If he is still looks the same next year then I would be getting concerned.

For me, typical QB progression is

Redshirt year and just learn the offense. Play in four games when the situation allows.
Freshman year back up and/or used in a special package of plays like Dak or KT now.
Sophomore year back up or start
    Junior-Senior year- starting QB.

Those days are gone. Now it's either your getting paid big bucks and the fans want you to play now or If I don't get significant playing time then I'm out of here cause dad thinks I'm the greatest and I deserve more.

Running backs and wide receivers- yes. Quarterbacks- no. Most of them understand that they need to develop and understand that sitting and learning is part of it. The quarterbacks that transfer out are typically those that do not have a path to start at their school anymore or are with a program that is about to undergo a coaching/scheme change.

Even with NIL there is still a development piece that comes into play.
