You are not wrong about the state but lack the knowledge of who these individuals are which isn?t surprising as they aren?t a household name in many places. I happen to have worked for this family in my career, they do things in the billions. And this is real money, privately held with world wide operations. When asked the can and will fund anything that is needed. The crazy thing is there are more than just one family that helps them carry the load like them. My questioning Kiffin to LSU has nothing to do with how good a job LSU is. He just seems like he's more of a Florida guy than a bayou guy. I'm sure he also thinks he can win a natty at UF just as well.

To me, the biggest thing is it is a lot easier to recruit at LSU. You don't have to compete with Florida State and Miami and all of the other national blue bloods like Bama, Ohio State, and Notre Dame for players. Basically, in Louisiana you have locals that will put a ton of pressure on players to go to LSU. You're also not far from Houston.

Florida as a state has more players as a whole though so there is a bigger pool of talent at least but I'm sure there are tiers of talent and you have to win your share of the top tier guys to make their fans happy.

Without looking at it, olemiss’ schedule is surely getting tougher in the future. They should have made the playoffs last year but shit the bed against 2 teams they should have beaten. This year they have been played close by arkansas and Kentucky, 2 of the weakest teams in the conference; Washington St. played them close as well. He is doing a good job of getting talent to oxford; but as always it is not as much as the blue bloods of the conference have; and some of those have been struggling recently.
