You only see the unicorns that are ready. What you don't see is the vast majority that aren't ready like KT. It's a huge jump from high school to SEC. You can't just outathlete people in the SEC unless you are someone like Herschel Walker who was basically an Olympic caliber athlete.

Who are all these freshman QBs you mention? Eli Manning? Arch Manning? Dak? Cam Newton? None of these guys played as true freshman. No one should have been more ready than the Manning kids. Yet, you and others want to blame Lebby for not having a true freshman from Noxubee high school ready to play over a 24 year old veteran? The IQ of our fanbase is really disturbing. Very, very few posters on this board have even a basic level of football knowledge.

In 3 conference games, Shapen has accounted for 2 tds and 5 TOs, and KT has accounted for 1 td and 0 TOs. I don't think 1 series with Shapen not out there is a killer. Find a couple plays he runs well and get his feet wet. Hell if KT had got his series at 1st and goal vs Tennessee, we might not still be winless in conf. If nothing else, you put out there that KT will throw the ball, his short yardage series will be much more effective. What we got to lose? 16 straight sec games?

As someone who kinda knows how bad "we fans" get after a loss and make brutal comments about certain player on any social media platform. It's sickening, nothing wrong with calling maybe for a change but to attach a player with crazy comments is wrong! ED has gotten pretty negative and is somewhat understanding with football losses, getting on coaches or calling them out is one thing but players, naw man, we need to cool it. Also to be clear, players should turn off the phone when playing, I relize it's the world we live in and as a society in America and the world, it's gotten out of hand and sickening to me. Do it private but stay off social media about players or at least choose words more carefully!
Hey, blast me all you want, I ain't preaching plus I may have choice words but it's more in public.

100% agree. It has gotten way out of hand attacking players, especially on social media. I searched Blake Shapen on Twitter after the game and some of the stuff I saw, from people whose bio says they are True Maroon or whatever, was just sickening. Like he lost a game and lost in excruciating fashion but some of the comments went way over the line.

The thing about football, it's a team sport, yes a player can make a mistake and it could cost their team the game, but it's way more to losing than one play. Also it's so easy being an armchair QB, LOL, no doubt players and coaches have to have alligator skin to survive.
Man a few on here are like a broken record and hate to be called out and will argue with the devil about saving their soul!

No kidding, you nailed that one.

Nick Fitzgerald did the same thing after LSU in 18, and even went after some people on social media, and he was a hero 6 days later. Winning Cures All. If Shapen leads us to a win against Texas everyone will quickly forget.
Then it's only going to get worse because we aren't beating them, even with Bad Arch...........Their DL is destroy our OL...........

I thought that would happen at Kentucky but Kentucky moved the ball pretty well on them. They had a TO on downs in the red zone early and missed a FG midway through the 3rd or they beat Texas. We are probably going to have to double or chip on Simmons. I think we also may see some screens here and there to keep him guessing a bit.

I would feel much better about this game had they rolled Kentucky. They probably come much more prepared this week

I keep thinking that. I just don't think they're very explosive offensively and, although good defensively, they give up some yardage.

Dam Leb at least you could have a very basic package for him with called plays,
I will be honest, I am pretty worried that a heralded QB recruit who has been on campus for a good while and who we are expecting to do big things cannot even properly read a designed RPO especially for him, that he has been practicing. That is very worrisome.

I'm right there with you. I fully expect he will not be the starter next year. Then, who know what will happen with him....
I sure hope I'm wrong. I hope the light switches on and he is an absolute beast next season. I've been excited about him for a while.

KT cost us a TD vs A&M with the motion penalty
We went 73 yards in 7 plays with Shapen then KT took the snap for a 2 yard TD. Let's not act like he led some dynamic drive. He took the snap and ran forward

Once the offseason gets here- he will begin film study sessions and such to help him continue to get better and learn whats going on. He will have time to throw routes on certain days and all that. Then Spring practice begins where he will be 6 months older and more used to the speed at which he has to play at. Again- Eli Manning RS'ed. Dak did too. Cam Newton didnt do anything his 1st 2 years of college and then showed at in juco in his 3rd year. This year's Heisman frontrunner at the moment- Ty Simpson- RS'ed his Freshman year. Sayin at Ohio State RS'ed also.
Acting like he is a failure because he isnt ready is ridiculous.

One lineman jumped. Hard to pin that on KT. If it were 2-3 guys that moved, probably so

It's prob better for us if KT doesn't shine any more this year. Will keep the price in check

Best advice. My oldest kid got off of it for toxic friends/connections. Other than this board, I do very little on social media and happier for it.
