Listening to Chuck Oliver show
I guess he is talking to a Florida sportswriter, Pat Dooley.
Dooley made the comment that the game looked to be lost until that last unbelievable pass by the MSU QB. Great play by the DL guy, but he said he could not believe the pass, it was so bad.
He claims Floriday check books are open , with commitment to more NIL and go get the right coach.
edit:
Comments by that guy:
1. His comment is they have had discussions with Lane, and he knows the commitment for NIL and salary. But he gave a good comment, that a coach has to consider being booed after a win at their stadium with spoiled fans.
2. What if Lane goes to playoffs, how does this playout. He said Florida needs to hope they don't make it(of course).
3. Said fans are all Lane or bust so alot of effort toward Lane.
4. He mentioned maybe Franklin if others don't pan.

They're gonna make a run at kiffin for sure. Even if they fail, I hope they drive his salary up to the point where it affects NIL and assistants

damn right the checkbooks are open. They have to pay Sunbelt Billy something like $25MM before Thanksgiving. Then the rest can be spread out some.
It will be fun to watch. Mississippi's AD is working on a deal right now to lock up Lame and fight off the job poaching drama. Curious to see what happens the next few weeks. Agents are working overtime right now for guys.
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

Lane's schedule gets difficult in a couple of years. So even if Ole Miss pays a large fortune to keep him, Lane gets a ton of money to just win 8 games there in those seasons. Not bad gig.
This silly season may be one of the all time greats.

It could definitely get weird. Lane was asked a softball question yesterday about the Florida opening and he basically gave a "no comment" answer, but with a lot more words...was certainly odd. If they don't get a contract done early with him, and he continues this strategy with the media, it could be 2022 all over for them in terms of the locker room...especially if they lose to Oklahoma this week.

Yes. Gonna be a great silly season!!!!!
LSU is gonna go 7-5, or what if they go 6-6???? I'm not sure they can beat Arkansas on the road now!!
Does Freeze survive?
Does Arkansas hire Petrino or does he end up at Florida, Auburn, LSU, or Ole Miss??? He's getting a job for sure.
Where does Franklin end up??
Does someone poach Clark Lea from Vandy? I know he played there but money!!!
Dillingham??????

What does Petrino have to do to get in the mix? Seems like if he gets Arkansas to around 7-8 wins then Arkansas probably locks him up.

Is Lane holding out for LSU? The sports media insiders are saying Florida is willing to make Lane the highest paid college football head coach in the country. But, does he have his eyes on Baton Rouge? That ice with Kelly is mighty thin this season.

Go back about 14 years and not employ his mistress and then get in a wreck on his motorcycle with him on it. And then lie about it.

It's 50/50 on whether he would leave for Florida.
LSU is the one OM fans are really worried about. He's openly coveted that job.

And it's absolutely possible it comes open.

I agree. That is just a MASSIVE buyout to eat. I would think they'd need assurances that their number one choice, probably Lane, would be taking the job before you made that move.

I wonder if Sexton has told their AD that if by some horrible circumstance you have to fire your coach Lane Kiffin would love to talk to you about being his replacement?

I would imagine that Scott and Jimmy have already had conversations in regards to the what if.

I bet BK would jump at the Penn State job, allowing the LSU to open up without them having to eat his buyout...

LOL! Funny you should mention it but take a gander at the new SEC Shorts. They have LSU trying to sell Penn State on Kelly.

I don't think that is all that far fetched. Kelly doesn't fit there. They know it, he knows, and everyone around the country knows it. LSU should be pushing the hell out of Kelly so he can get that job.

LSU is probably the easiest place to win a natty, while UF is a dumpster fire for coaches (since Urban left). UF is only in play for Lame to drive up his value.
