    Night games

Texas was announced as a 2:30 or 3:15 kickoff. What do we have to do to get a night game?

I know it is TV ratings controlled but we are the only SEC team not to get an SEC night game for a second straight year. When we played ASU we went head to head on ratings with Mich-OU so what gives?

That's going to be our future going forward for the most part. Georgia and Mississippi are 11am games so none this season.

Stanford @ Miami pre-empted us for the 6 PM ESPN game because the networks seem to think LSU/Aggy shouldn't compete with Texsa / State. Which... yea.

The real thing to bitch here is that Bama gets 4 SEC Home games - 230 CT or later. We match up with potentially the only non 7 PM Bama home SEC game.

They need to do away with this "flex" bullshit and guarantee each team 1 home 11am, 3pm, 7pm window game each. And then 1 flex home game.

I don’t see the problem with a mid afternoon game. 11 am would be a more problem for most.

Agree with this. We are all SEC members and deserve equal opportunity, not equal results but every team deserves the same day schedule chance. The kick time does matter to not only fans but the game itself. Night at DWS or any SEC venue is not the same as 1100am. It reduces our homefield advantage.

Mid afternoon is good for those driving home at night.

This. We're a doormat for the blue bloods. Night games will be a rare event for us in the super conference era. Unless we luck into a few billionaire alumni willing to go all in on football and bankroll us being competitive, we'll be stuck with mostly day games moving forward. We don't have the cache or draw the ratings of the big boys. It's also why our fans who bitched and moaned about the Battle for the Golden Egg being on Thanksgiving night until the school moved it were short-sighted idiots. It was a guaranteed night game in prime time, the only one we had. It was never going back to Saturdays. So now we're stuck with an 11 AM or 3 PM game on Black Friday pretty much forever, which is objectively worse than Thanksgiving night for basically everyone but teachers and retirees.

When conferences decided to cede their scheduling power to the TV networks, this was always the inevitable and foreseeable result for programs like us. KY, Vandy, SCar, Arkansas, etc will be in the same boat with us. While we needed to invest in the upgraded LED lights for DWS, it was always a bad investment. They'll barely be used.

Our fans have a tendency to not see the big picture and stick our heads in the sand. We like to hope problems just go away instead of embracing the change and moving forward with it. The Thanksgiving night game complaining, not embracing NIL and just complaining about it until every other team is miles ahead of us, being dismissive and negative with players, thinking that we remain a power 2 team in future realignments because we are good in baseball, etc. These are just a few examples of things not helping our situation.

I'm sure we'll be on some Saturday's too.

And I have news for you- as soon as Texas joined the conference that was the end of Thanksgiving Egg Bowls. It's inevitable that Texas/Texas A&M is going to be played on Thanksgiving. Now, we might be able to beg and get the SEC to let us share Thanksgiving with them but if they make both play guess which time slot the Egg Bowl is getting? It's not going to be 6:30.

There was nothing more inconvenient than asking our fans to work the Egg Bowl around their Thanksgiving plans. And for the fans that had to work the next day after the Egg Bowl I'm sure it was an awesome productive day at work.

I'll be that guy- if we play a game at 3:15 it's going to be roughly 6:30 by the time the fourth quarter starts. So it should be dark enough where the light show can be enjoyed.
