We didn't win two games last year. What did you expect? It's a rebuild. It's going to take time to be relevant again. Hopefully next year. Look at the improvement on defense. Offense was expected based alone on having a true freshman starting along with having one of the toughest schedules. Next year will be better and fan support has already starting coming back. We'll sell more tickets next year. Increasing prices on a year we won 2 games, there was always going to be a lot of people getting out/ resetting of seats

I like Neal and actually think he and Tyler Siskey have been very complimentary of us this year, Siskey more than Neal. But when he said that yesterday it told me one thing, there is REAL 17 WORRY that Lane is leaving Ole Miss. Neal is not stupid. He must know of smoke around Lane somewhere that is bubbling up so what is the first thing you do? Divert the smoke and say you heard the rival HC, who all their fans and Neal said would be the hire if Lane left, was looking around for an exit.
The problem that he has with what we are doing this year is that it flies directly in the face of his comments in June. He said when we hired O Connor that we were waving the white flag in football. He said you cannot spend in that sport and be competitive in football. Did not say it was wrong to do it, but said it cannot be done. Well, we are doing it.

Like when he said look for Jans to take the Wichita state job.

Seems to me Lane loves Ole Dixie and makes very good money. He might leave one day but I don't think he will next year. He has built a competitive program and dude can recruit!

Unless you leave for FSU, Clemson, Miami or Notre Dame, there are no other jobs outside the Power 2 that I see any coach leaving a Power 2 school to join. That seems silly based on the way conference realignment is heading. Now, if Lebby wins us 8 or 9 games next year then I could see there being a threat of him going to a Power 2 upper tier school if they come calling. His resume at this point is not good enough to get interests from those schools at this time.

He can. And look, credit where credit is due, Lane has matured A TON in Oxford. Yea he is still corny and click baity at times but the stories I heard when he first got there vs now are night and day. I mean missing meetings with recruits(Arch Manning was the recruit) and being out on the square til midnight optically made it look like Lane was still Lane. Juxtapose that with now and he is up at 6 AM doing yoga, has some community involvement, and runs his program like an actual program.
Saying all that, the timing of the documentary is not a coincidence. ESPN has wanted to do that for 3 years. Why would he just now let them do it? Well the simple answer is Jimmy Sexton told him now was the right time. There is going to be at least one big time SEC opening, possibly 2, along with an NFL job he openly covets in Miami. There is considerable smoke that Lane wants that Dolphins job. There is also wonder of whether the Giants would move off Daboll to pair Lane with Dart.

Kiffin is going to be the top candidate for several major programs this offseason and Ole Miss is going to have to pay BIG to keep him. I don’t know if they have the amount of money I’ve been hearing that it will take to keep him and, if they do pay it, how much will it hamstring everything else. I’m hearing north of $13 million.

Unless a blue blood comes open, which there are some rumblings one in Austin could open up, I don't think it gets that high. And look, Dickie Scruggs may be a raging lumatic on Twitter and a bleeding heart liberal who would seem to despise everything Ole Miss stands for nowadays, but he will pay to keep Lane. Make no mistake about that. He, David Nutt, and Jerry Hollingsworth could go north of 20 just on their own if they needed to. Add in to that the Black family and the Jones family out of Houston, no relation to Walker, and they got money coming out of their ears.

I wouldn’t bet on that but we will certainly see come December. Everything I’ve heard is that he’s officially on the market and looking to make a move. Don’t know why or what changed for him but it would probably take $15+ to keep him.

He may just be ready to make a move and if he is going to do it then now is the time. Landry will be a senior next year so she has had the college experience and could go online if need be. Knox will be a sophomore so that is the time to change schools if he is going to do it.
Look, Lane has been at Ole Miss longer than he has been anywhere. I think it is going to take a blue blood or the NFL to lure him away but I think if he is going to leave, now is the time.

So Texas fans are literally insane? Their coach just took them to the playoff two years in a row and went to the SEC championship game and they want him fired? I could see them being annoyed if they only win 7 games or so, but Sark should be no where near the hot seat.

Not saying that at all. I think Sark may want another shot in the NFL and could pursue one of the 3-4 NFL openings that there will be.

With the current playoff setup there's no need for Kiffin to leave Ole Miss

Playoff wise maybe not. But he absolutely will leave for money and lifestyle options. I know it hurts some Oxford feelings (and some state fans feelings also) but neither Oxford nor Memphis are the lifestyle meccas that locals make them out to be. They just aren’t.

Leaving Ole Miss would be a stupid move. He's coached in the Florida area, TN & USC. He learned a lot. I think he's there for a lonnnng time. He's been there & done that.

I think he only leaves for Bama or LSU. Texas probably as well but I bet Sark stays where he is.

Depends on what he wants. He may want a national title. He hasn't even been able to make a playoff yet.
